Skodas in other countries

Featured Replies

I'm in Germany at the moment so I popped into the local Skoda dealer to have a look at the new Fabia Combi yesterday.

Several demonstraters in stock, very impressed with the looks in the flesh & the quality of fit & finish. Importantly for an estate, the shape of the boot is like the old octy, i.e. less curved.

I didn't ask for a test drive.

Also on site were several Praktiks (Roomster vans) they have 5 doors but no rear seats or windows.

Now I've noticed that Estates are very popular in Germany, so I was curious to notice several Mk1 Octy Combis badged as Octavia Tours in stock, these included some brand new ones.

So curiosty got the better of me, on Skoda's German website you can build your new Skoda & yes, Octavia Tours can be ordered brand new as hatch or combi.

With 1.6 petrol or 1.9 TDI engines. Curiously Superbs can't be "konfigured" at the moment (yet they can on the UK site) however there's the press photos of the new Superb on the website.

So are these Tours built in Mlada Boleslav or India (or somewhere else)?

Just curious really ... Darren

As far as I know all Octavia's are built in Mladá Boleslav.

Only vehicles branded as Laura's are built in India.

Though I could be wrong.

The new Fabia combi really does look good in the metal.
