sticky caliper piston?

Featured Replies

Ok folks I get an annoying squeak about 15-25mph from the nearside when pulling away with warm brakes, hit the brake or take the speed up and it goes. Have greassed the back of the pads and no pull when braking/accelatering. So my guess is a sticky caliper, but you? And how to cure..... :o

My guess wouldnt be the caliper itself, its more than likely the pad getting stuck on the carrier (as you have FSIII brakes).

Need stripping and cleaning, and a bit of copper grease.

Ross you are the fountain of all skodalodge!!!! The offending caliper has just been taken off, meeting surfaces wire brushed, and a small ammount of copper grease put on then before re-assembly. Brakes warmed up and no apparant squeak!!! We will now see if it lasts..... But thats 1 more beer I owe Ross :rofl:

Andy do your brakes groan in reverse?

Tom.

Every now and then, but usually when the little darlings have got the clutch raised to or beyond the bite and they are using the brakes to keep the speed down as opposed to just dipping the clutch!
