Get a stronger turbo. :)

Get custom intercooler hoses which you can use big jubilee clips on. :)

Stop doing 130mph all the time. :P ;)

i know what ya saying but dose ever 1 who has a fabia vrs up to 173bhp have this problem ? lol its cant be caused by the egv valve or turbo pressure solinde falier or what ever it is called lol can it :S

Some people have just munched their way through lots of turbos. The KKK one is apparently quite weak (nowt to do with white supremacists though ;))

Stick an Allard VT2, or a TD stage 1 on and I doubt you'll blow it.

One question. How long do you leave it to warm up before boosting the turbo to full pressure from cold, and how long do you let the turbo cool before the end of a journey? (ok, that was 2 questions, but.... :D) You're driving style/habits may be highly unsuitable to turbo lifespan.

beware of trolls

oh and put some engine oil in.

at first i woz going every were full throtel from start 2 finish lol..but after the second turbo i soon thought about it and decided leav it 10minits b4 giving it some and give it 2minits befor turning it off, so how much u recon i can get a fmic and the pipes for?

Around £500 for a reasonable FMIC kit, maybe more.

Can you do me a personal favour please - use all the keys on your keyboard. I find it very hard to read posts written in "txt spk"

Not far off 30 in 9 days time! :(

If you're not happy with the map, I would take it to Jabba and I'm sure they'll either remap it again to be more kind, or sort out any running issues it may have.

prbolem is jabba is about 200miles from me :( and cant be arest with taking all day going ther to get told ther is **** all wrong, am i the only person with a fabia that has 173bhp that has problems on the kkk turbo? jabba are pro at remaps thay wouldant map it to hard knowing what the car is almost standerd? cant be them map could be anythink ells?

Do you know in what way the previous turbos blew? Was it oil starvation? Or just something internal broke, such as an impeller?

A hybrid turbo does not really cost much more than a stock unit if you're buying new. £700 - £800 buys you a decent hybrid from a reputable tuner, and I doubt you'd blow it.

I would also invest in a boost gauge so you can watch what the boost is doing all the time. You can then watch for overboost which kills turbos and engines in time. Anything more than about 1.7 bar on a stock pd130 turbo is bad news. A hybrid can do 2.0 bar all day (metaphorically speaking)

I dont really know why the first turbos destroyed themselves.

When I got the first turbo off there was no impeller or any internal parts left inside the turbo. The second turbo Just destroyed itself, blowing the hot and cold sides apart.

I would love to upgrade the turbo but my student loan is supposed to be for books but i am using it on my car ;) Dont we all?

I need to work out why the turbos keep blowing before it costs me even more money.

I really like the idea of having a boost gauge, can someone suggest one for the fabia vrs?

Thanks you very much buddy

HTH

It does.

Thanks

Where do you get the 173bhp figure from? It sounds very low for a Jabba remap!

Chris

am not criticising you here mate but from the posts you have wrote its sounds like you anihilate your car every were and i know you say you let it warm up now but still the way your driving it will kill it 130mph now that just is caining it

Get it booked into Jabbasport for some diagnostics. They had mine earlier in the year and traced a boost spike down to a faulty turbo-boost-controller-module-box... thing.

Absolutely spot on service and car's been as happy as Larry ever since.

Vacumn distribution block, about 120 quid from the dealers IIRC. There are a few versions so you will need your part number off the box fitted to your car.
