And if on a NSL motorway, you would loose your driving liecence at 130mph. But probably get told off for doing 45 :D

Yes but you will have to pay for the garage tp diagnose the problems first. Normally an hours labour.

Cool man - an hours labour I'd be happy with - a grand for a new turbo I wouldn't...

You wouldnt get charged for labour. I didnt on all three three times.

Either your vacuum controller is at fault, which would in turn not tell the Variable Vanes on your turbo to adjust quick enough. So when your revs go up the vanes are still in a position which is suitable for low exhaust gas pressure - when the pressure is actually getting higher. The turbo therefore produces more boost then it can handle. Usally its the seal that fails, the turbo spits oil into the manifold and this is noticed by loads of smoke, a burning oil smell and white burnt oil on your tail-pipe. Then she blows up a few days later.

Or...your car is actually fine but your being far, far to harsh on her. Flooring it from very, very low revs in low gears, like second for instance will ALWAYS cause a slight boost spike because the VNT system cannot respond quick enough. Over time your turbo will fail this way- regardless of it being in perfect health.

I'd get your car to Jabbasport to be honest....call them first though; they might all book a day of leave then prior to your arrival.

Where do you get the 173bhp figure from? It sounds very low for a Jabba remap!

Chris

For info, on mine the post-custom Jabba figure was verified on Awesome's RR at 175bhp. Jabba's torque figure was over by about 30lb/ft though - 330 plays 300 at Awesome.

This might help with the original question actually, as my turbo isn't serving up boost quite as readily as it should. So my figures are lower than they should/could be, especially running a Sachs organic. Perhaps this is the OP's problem? He really should be aware of it though, as Jabba would have pointed out anything they found issue with, post remap.

less problems :D

If you let it idle before pulling off, it's just wasting diesel as you need the engine under load to generate heat. Best to drive off as soon as possible and try avoiding parking the car up while driving on full boost ;)
