May need help... think in addicted!!

Featured Replies

I am just wondering how strong the 130PD engine is, and is it worth going for a PD engine out of a van!! A 2.5 i was looking at.

Has anyone done this. Couldnt find anything about this before.

Can get an 10k miles 2.5 engine fairly cheap (know a man who can).

Would i be able to use the 6 speed box and drives still?

And is the engine the same phisical size?

Or maby a 2.5 head on a 1.9 (will have to cut block for valves probably).

Want a bit of a torque monster.

Hummm, just noticed title is wrong, ment to say "May need help... think im addicted!! "

It would be easyer to just mod the pd130. There is such thing as too much power! I think the ideal power for this engine is 170bhp and that is more than enough ;)

I would tend to agree there, mod the 130 take to 170 mate and leave it there, I'm quite happy at the min with my 152.7bhp.

erm what 2.5 tdi is PD ?

erm what 2.5 tdi is PD ?

the v6 one :D dont think it would fit in the fabia tho.

I think the latest T4 transporters have a 4 cylinder 2.5 pd, but dont quote me on that one

How about a twin-engine setup? Just, only, merely put in another PD130 in the rear (!!). Been done with VW's - twice the power straight off. Neutral balance as you have two big diesel lumps.

Just wonder where you put the diesel tank?

Imagine - 2x the power....

Dont let jason see this. 260 bhp x 2

twin engined vehicles are not road legal *

* there maybe some exceptions though

The v6 isn't PD. The 5 cylinder one is though.

and, And, AND...?

Jason did see that - he want to go 4wheel drive, which is probably a lot smarter - get every single ft/lb down to the road.....

I'll expand. The V6 won't fit due to the engine layout. However the I5 may as it's fitted transverse in the Transporter.

Pug1Off's V12 (One 3.0 v6 in the front, and a second 3.0 v6 in the back), was quicker than a Ferrari and was completely road legal. Try getting an insurance quote tho!!!

I have a picture of when Jasons car had two engines but the picture is just the rear engine:rofl:

The 2.5TDI 5cyl unit in the T5 Transporter puts out 174BHP, and more torque than a Furby would know what to do with ;)

Would love to know if it'd fit...

The twin engined 2CVs (Safaris?) did quite well, originally built for the Army IIRC?
