Tyres

Featured Replies

I'll have a play with search in a mo, but what tyres are peeps using on their octavia RS?

mine is currently on standard contisport contact things. I used Toyo on the last car, are they any good on an octavia?

Not much wrong with the Contis IMHO.

A hell of a lot better than the Dunlop 3000's mine came with.

Pirelli P Zero Nero

Pirelli P Zero Rosso

Conti SportContact

Dunlop SP9090

Good Year F1 GS-D3

Would be my order of preference. I personally don't like the Toyos (so shoot me :P ).

(so shoot me :P ).

Name the time & place, i'll bring the gun :D

Cap, pop or Hilti? :D

I was thinking of 12 bore to be quite honest ;)

im using eagle F1. very happy with them so far

I'm not keen on directionals on FWD cars, my personal reference. To me they seem to turn in quicker (a good thing) but wash out earlier (a bad thing). I'm prepared to accept the slower turn in, in exchange for better mid corner grip.

Anyone tried Avon ZZ3?

Over the years I have only noticed small differences in premium brands, that is until I moved from Dunlop Sport 3000 to Pirelli P-Zero Rosso on my last daily driver. Superior grip, handling, turn-in and stability but a bit more noise. (307XSi 205x50x17). So the Rossos get my vote.

Paul, if money is the main factor, I'd go for the F1 GS-D3. Mail Phil (piv34uk) on here, he may be able to sort you out a good price. Or for somewhere more local, try Protyre in either Bristol or Gloucester, get prices from both their depots.
