Audi Cabriolet or Octavia 2.0 diesel VRS?

Featured Replies

| am currently the proud owner of a 2.5 year old Audi A4 Cabriolet, the 1.8T Sport model. Very low mileage and perfect condition with full leather... I have 2 loves in my life, one being my Audi, and the other being my wife. As the wife is now 6 months pregnant i'm having to sell the Audi and buy a "family" car instead.

Much as it pains me to admit it, the Octavia VRS is a decent looking car with a good spec and performance... not a patch on my car to look at of course, and i'm sure if you are all honest with yourselves you would agree with me and admit you would all rather have the Audi Cab. Anyway that aside, can you guys convince me the Oct VRS is worth having, and if so which dealership offers them with the upgrade pack at a decent price? Not trading the Audi in i'm selling it instead if anyone wants a better looking car in their driveway!

I've been looking at A4 cabs.....

I just PM'd you my address :)

sorry babs, email is -

Spam bots will love the taste of your email address ;)

I would get rid if I were you.

You'll also need to turn green to advertise ;)

If we can't convince you into an Octy, you might manage that yourself if you take a test drive. Pop down to a local dealership and go from there

I assume the email address that you have quoted is fictionalised then?

Dave.

He wasn't advertising ;)

I propositioned him (ooh-er!)

I used to drive an A4 cabriolet and now drive a vRS combi.

Sure, the vRS doesn't have the Audi's looks (or the interior quality), but seeing as every second car where I live seems to be an A4 cabriolet, I rather like driving something a bit different :D

After a couple of weeks, you'll have forgotten all about open top motoring and those admiring (envious?) glances you get at pedestrian crossings, you can go for a drive without putting on a stupid cap to avoid burning your head and you need only wash your car when it's dirty . . . . . ahhh, the joys of Skoda motoring

Sadly, not true in my case

Ok, give it a couple of months then!

It's been nearly a couple of years

And they are still sunburned...

It's been nearly a couple of years

In that case might I suggest you catch the episode of Top Gear when Clarkson, Hammond & May cut the roof of a people carrier. You could pick up some useful tips for doing the same to your own car and that way recapture the joys of open top motoring for a fraction of the price just in time for the summer (which I guess will be in March and April)

I've already seen that one, but thanks for the heads up :D

The A4 will get a better price in a few months once it stops raining. If you cant get a good price for it now & you love the car I would just see how it goes. The cabs a 4 seater so it is quite possible you can manage with it. Dont be fooled into the "you have to take half the house everytime you take the wee one out" thats a total myth

Ur, no.

If you're that bothered about your precious Audi then get the A4 saloon 2.0T then you need not be pained at all.

:iagree:

Well pained financially, compared to the Octy :)

Steve

I will transfer 20K into your account for your A4 cab,

I live in Nigeria :)

You could run 2 cars - keep the Audi and spend the money it would have cost to upgrade it to the VRs on the 2nd motor! :P

Exactly, I just traded my A4 Cab 1.8T in for my new vRS TDi, that (brand new) Audi was the worst car I've had for things falling off, squeaking, leaking, failing and snapping.

Constantly in the garage with warranty claims, glad to be rid of it seeing as the roof was down a handful of times last year.

May I say that in my experience the interior is as well made? (Except that the dash vents haven't broken in the Skoda yet)!

:rofl:Never felt the need for an Audi Cabriolet, except for the R8 Lemans racer or the current R10 TDi FAP that won Lemans last year, mainly because;

1. I am not a hairdresser

2. I am not an estate agent.

Audis do look nice, but they also look different, in the same way Skodas look nice, but they also look different (from audis)

Could you stretch to a 2nd car and have a basic family car and keep the Audi?
