Anyone else got one, and what do you think to it?

Just got one, and im impressed!

Cheers

it's not too bad, hopefully you have a WM6 version (if not easily upgraded).

built in sat nav is a bonus. I found it a tad slow have now upgraded to the TYTN II with more memory faster processor etc.

There is a prog about which allows you to overclock the cpu to give better performance and provides useful info on the today screen about call time/data use etc.

Overall not a bad all round phone.

I am looking to upgrade my TyTn I to a TyTn II, but wondered if they have fixed the ‘locking’ problems. I find I have to reset my phone several times every day as it freezes, crashes or decides to play silly buggers. How is yours doing so far? Any issues at all?

I don't have any problems with my Tytn 1 (hermes).

Have you tried flashing to a different rom?

Just tried rebooting and removing any unwanted software. I have spoken to several colleagues who have the same issues as me with this phone-SPV 3100. it could be Oranges software that screws it up and one of the Orange technical bods told me as much. I do use the phone extensively as a PDA and data device and regularly sync it with my Laptop (I’ve got over 500 contacts stored).

Just spent 2 days trying to get the e-mail and internet functions working again as the phone junked all the original settings and Orange was stumped as to how to restore them.

ive had my xda for over a year now i love it, sat nav got me home a few times, i would sugest a screen protector tho

mine is ok, I also have orange software and although it's not everyone's taste I find it ok.

if you think it's orange software why not re-flash the original HTC software to it and see if that solves the problem.

could also try flashing the latest orange rom for the M3100 available from

I wouldn’t dare monkey around with the software as the issues it might cause will drive me to kill everyone who works at HTC/Orange and Microsoft.

this is a vital work tool for me and I can not live without it at present.

it really is easy esp if you use the orange approved rom, only takes 10 minutes

just backup your files and contacts

But it took 2 days for Orange to be able to get something simple like my interwebmail fixed. I can’t go through that again. The settings for Orange compatibility are ridiculous, I ended up having to put ISP addresses into the phone etc and even then it didn’t work fully.

I receive work through e-mail quite often and the time it was out (this time) cost me about £500 in lost work. It is far better for me to have the inconvenience of multiple resets, rather than risk losing any of my settings.

Just get a tytn II!!! hehe... you know you wanna!

As long as you don't steal mine.... :thumbdwn:

I've flashed mine with about 10 different roms now (I get bored) :D

The orange software is RUBBISH and the cooked roms are waay faster/reliable than the orange roms.

TT1?

I used TT nav 3 on my XDA2S and it worked fine but it locked up if someone rang.

Using it as a straight PDA and taking the O2 active interface off made it run so much better.

TT5 works really well on it. May upgrade to TT6 when I get the XDA exec.

The XDA dev forum is ace too.

I’ve got mine now too :D it seems a lot more stable than the TyTn I so far and sync’d up beautifully with my Laptop and car. the GPS works well too.

I have just started a thread asking about mapping for the TyTn II. Which is best? Tom Tom or some other? Plus how on earth do you get the mapping into the moby (does it easily load up from an installation disc via active sync?) and how do you then get the phone to use the new mapping? Battery life seems a little poorer than my TyTn I though, but I will give the batteries a few cycles before I make a definitive decision on that one.

Have just been given a Tytn II as a work mobile (i didnt ask for one?!) how is this suppost to be better than a N95?

cant believe the muppets expect me to carry two phones around!

I have to say my TyTn I was a pain in the backside, but I stuck with it because of its relative ease with syncing with my desktop. But my TyTn II is a revelation so far. It does everything the TyTn I shold have done and more. It pairs it’s entire Phone book with the car seamlessly, syncs with Outlook faultlessly, has a touch screen with a cut down version of HTC’s ‘flo’ system (like a cheap rip off of the iphone) and even has a GPS which works pretty well. The only downside is the poor battery life compared to the TyTn I. Spent the day today with a friend who has a N95 and we both thought my TyTn was slightly the better phone…………..honest:D
