I am pleasantly surprised by everyone's opinion's on this subject!!

I've just thought....... It should also include the larger washer reservoir shouldn't it????? Doesn't it get upgraded to 5 litres when washers are fitted otherwise you'll be filling it up every week or so!!!!!

Cheers

Dave.

Who actually cares. if you want them, get them. personal choice

And as long as you know someone who can give you an MOT pass each year. ;)

As long as you don't mind getting flashed all the time, stopped by the police, wasting your money when you can't get an MOT or having somebody smash your headlights when you park up after blinding them for a whole journey.

I've started a thread on xenon kits over here:

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/styling-car-care/aftermarket-hid-kits/100129/

Think we probably ought to leave this thread for group buy purposes as the OP requested?

Nope and no, no, no and no are all answers to those points.

I'd move area if ppl like that do that around your end.

MOT is fine

Hiya Steve, maybe interested but £300 is a lot of money, would be good to see a car that has had it done too see what sort of an improvement it makes.

Mark, that's ********, stop being such a rule book carrying boy scout.

Sorry I'm the only one mentioning am I?

Maybe you'd like to have a go at all the others too as well Emily, or do you enjoy singling me out?

I do wonder if the Highways Agency agree with their staff publicly disagreeing with the official position on such activities.

I'm sure me being a `rule book carrying scout` will be irrelevant when somebody crashes into a car fitted with after-market HIDs, because they blinded them Especially when the insurance fails do pay out for illegal or undeclared modifications and not keeping the car in a road worthy condition.

Also, I didn't realise it was Briskoda policy to promote illegal activities.

Blah blah blah. You obviously hate them. Now leave it. You sound like an annoying record now

Who says they're illegal?

The full details haven't even been shown yet!!!

The way I'm reading it is like this: The full system that you would have paid £500 for but its for £300 :) and why not, they dont make 'em anymore so if someone has got hands on some kit?

Why else is it so much when there are many places advertising kits for half the price?

Also why is someone from skoda/ex-skoda involved if its not OEM?

Lets wait and see whats on offer and then start arguing :P

:finger: I really hope the plod stop you and make you rectify everything on your car. Do you have blue neons and washer lights too. You do realise illegal modifications to your car make your insurance invalid don't you. That means if you get stopped for these or involved in an accident and the other party blames being dazzled and they want to take you to the cleaners you can be looking at driving uninsured.

As for not liking them, no if they are legal, eg OEM retrofit and could be done for the octy II then I'd actually quite like a set.

Love you too baby. Bet you've got uprated bulbs?? You told your insurer?

Gonna cry now. I bet your one of those people who tell your insurance you'll plan to do 14,679 miles per annum, Get a grip man

Do you have blue neons and washer lights too.

Actually if you knew anything about the fabia the washer jets are under the lip of the bonnet, so this would be a pretty stupid thing to do.

Choke on my smoke, ciao xx

The washer jets are in the bumper, just so you know.

Uprated bulbs are not illegal, Xenon bulbs in halogen headlamps are.

Having been hit by an uninsured driver who left the scene, i think I'll chose to be insured thanks.

Enjoy the basement.

And I'm going to leave this thread to discuss the potential purchase as the OP asked and hence the other thread that was set up.

I've recently fitted some 6k HID's off ebay to my Fabia VRS.

They cost me £45.

There is a little bit of glare and distortion of the beam pattern, which at first I was worried about.

To check, I went for a 2 hour drive from dusk until dark around country lanes and through town.

Not a single person flashed me, probably passed 200+ cars.

They look great, the vision is good.

For peace of mind I took them to an MOT station to check the alignment, they said it was fine and would pass MOT in all likely hood.

As soon as the law becomes clear, I will remove them.

If the police stop me and tell me to remove them, I will remove them.

If I start getting a huge number of people flashing me (unlikely, as theyve been in a week with 1 flash at me, as I came over the brow of a hill and downwards to a car coming upwards), I will remove them.

Until then, they are staying.

I'm with you pal

Are they now, if needed i'll send you your local doctors number?

Just for your peace of mind, washer jets for my WINDSCREEN me old chap

I was looking at something like this....

Washer Bottle System Kit on eBay, also, Kit Car Parts, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 04-Feb-08 23:45:57 GMT)

Probably quite easy to fit, just drill two holes in front of the lights and push the washers in

Finding somewhere to put the washer bottle would be the hard part.

Pretty funky. Could you not tap into the standard washer bottle maybe?

Would it be linking into the windscreen wash stalk?

Na it would be a separate button.

I'm sure you could connect some more tubing to some washer jets on the front bumper from the original bottle

Add as interested.

Let me make this perfectly clear :-

1) I am offering people an opportunity to express an interest in this item only at this stage.

2) I will get any questions asked by those interested an answer by the person who will do the work.

3) Once people have received their answers, this is the opportunity to withdraw any interest.

4) Those remaining will then be offered the lights.

PLEASE stop using this thread to discuss whether they are legal etc etc, and either use the other thread, or start another one.

Thank You.

Idealy you need to say what is actually included? Projector lenses etc...

This will then result in less questions and hopefully more purchases
