Window opening from key fob?

Featured Replies

hi all

does every octy have window closure/opening from the key fob?

mine doesnt work off fob but works when key is turned in lock and held in either lock or open positions

mines a 2001, was it not standard until later or is mine bust?

help/advice would be appreciated cheers

I don't think any of them do as standard? You can buy a little module like an Alientech so that you can open and close from your fob, but I think as standard they will only do up using the key in the lock... or the little switches on the doors!

Press and hold the button on the key fob for more than 2 seconds to do what you want (lock= close windws, unlock = open)

Mine does it.

I bought a KVW100 from here:Vagproducts

Can't get that site to work either in IE or Firefox. Anybody able to see what it is they sell?

So should my car do the windows up from the fob as standard?

Nope.

No it shouldn't :)

Its a new site, cant get it to work either.

Awsome sell them to but more expensive:

Awesome > ECS KVW100 Window Control Module

Just as I'd originally said then! I was just a little confused when gadgetman said his did, I guess he neglected to mention he'd bough a 'gadget' to do it.

The Mk2 will do the key fob thing as standard with the windows but unfortunately the Mk 1 only does it via the key in the lock as standard.

That KVW100 module looks good. It doesn't do as much as the Alientech one but it doesn't require any cutting and soldering and I think it might be cheaper too. I may have to invest in one of those myself...

I paid £21 from vagproducts.

Hmm, sites not working for me but I'll check back in a bit.

I have an alientech controller and I wouldn't recommend them to be honest. They do work but it's such a PITA to get the button timing correct that I gave up trying and rarely use it.

Ha ha, that's that decision sorted then, I'll get the KVW!!

I can get the site up from the link but i cant get it to do or show me anything shame really because i would of liked one of these :thumbdwn:

My 2001 4x4 closes the windows and sunroof on the fob but only opens them on the key.

Nope, no gadgets bought.

My Mk1 (2003 53 elegance) did it also from new. It's partly how I broke my rear windows on the Mk2 (lifter cable snapped lowing windows) - testing the Mk2 did it also

But you must press the corresponding button on the remote for more than 2 secs to start, and keep it held until it's done what you want. ;)

Annoyingly mine does'nt however the wifes mondy does :(
