Doh! Anyone know where to get bits of interior trim from?!

Featured Replies

Been a while since I posted on here, so happy new year to you all!

Just thought I'd ask for your well informed advice. I decided that I could take no more of my split, vibrating passenger side front speaker in my VRS so I bought a couple of nice shiny Sony speakers (I'm glad they are hidden away as they are pretty over the top to look at!). I fitted them last night. If anyone is planning on doing this, it is slightly more than 2 or 3 hours work, it took myself and a mate 6 hours  to do both sides (complete with soundproofing). Having said that, it sounds ace!

However, during the process i managed to snap the little tabs on the bit of plastic trim that fits in front of the interior door handle, the bit that fits in behind and houses the wing mirror control switch. I have tried to find a replacement but can't find one anywhere! Aside from going to a main dealer and being charged an extortionate amount of money.... any ideas?!

Cheers, T

It often amuses me that people will resort to extreme lengths to avoid using a dealer for parts.

Phone them and ask them - you've nothing to lose.

I'd be surprised if it's much more than £3.

Cheers for that, I'll give it a go but I do fear that you may have missed of a couple of decimal places on that figure! Still, here goes... :)

Be sure to let us know.

Iv just bought one of these as mine was damaged, cost about £1.70!

I've priced up several parts of trim that have surprised me and hence my confidence in the price of this part.

Sadly it is a trend which I have seen here several times before where people will spend time and effort trying to get something that it quite cheap to buy

rear tweeter cover is about £1-70, front cover for rear armrest is £1-41,

front spoiler about £6

amazing

Yep - but can you get it to fit and click back in? Mine (passenger side blank) popped out a few years ago after closing the door (no reason and nothing broken) but can I get it to snap back into place?!? No way - luckily a tidy bit of work with some blutack solved the problem!

Good to hear it's sorted.
