LCR Splitter Fitted

Featured Replies

Well thanks to some advice from vrsphil  I fitted my front splitter.

Like Carolyn's superb I did it on a pair of DIY ramps. However had to use a couple of scaffolding planks to aid getting the car up there ( stop it them from ripping the bumper apart)

Basically trimmed all the little bits from the splitter so it would sit flat. Then cut the centre bits to where the tabs are.

Next I put some masking tape on both the bumper and the splitter and measured to find the centre lines.

I offered it up to the car and made sure both centre lines lined up and then added some more masking tape to hold it in place.

I used stainless self tappers to hold it on (dirt cheap from screwfix). With it in place I drilled a small pilot hole through the tab nearest the droopy bit and then fitted the first screw. Did the same on the other side so it was fairly secure.

I then put a screw in each of the tabs and anywhere it looked a bit iffy I added a further screw. It only needed a small amount of persuasion to follow the bumper line and I didn't cut it anywhere.

Once all the screws were in I added a thin bead of black silicone between the bumper line and the splitter to finish it off.

I'm really pleased with the result and it makes the front look even meaner and still retains the oem look.

Big thanks to vrsphil for his advice. Here are some pics.

Cheers

It was just to cover any possible gaps that were there. Just seemed to finish it of. TBH most of it was wiped off but I like the result.

looks good :) Just ordered mine through a mate at Trenton Seat. Just need to find time to fit it LOL

LOL - what did he look like? tall, gangly and shaven head? lol

I'd love one of those but I think it'd get removed by my driveway :(

Plus they don't sell Seat parts here so it might be hard to get hold of.

Tidy :)

How much are you guys paying?, I got mine for 14.28 from seat

I should really get mine fitted as its been sitting in the garage for bout 6 months :(

Looks excellent.

First time i've seen it on a black Octy.

Time to head to the Seat Dealer me thinks.

Sweet! I'm fitting mine on Sunday... that with a tt arch liner mod and THS TIP :D

What are the two black clips/tape on the grille for ????

Oh dear... I don't think that would last long on mine. I already have to cross the footpath diagonnally to avoid scraping the underside of the bumper when going to work.

Not my cup of tea either, it looks better on the Fabia than the Octavia IMO.

Oh no. Now i'v got something else to buy for my car. Looks very nice on the red Octy and thats the colour of mine. Quick question, I'v seen a picture in the members area of a red Octy with black "B" pillars. Are they an optional extra from somewhere or just from another model? I'd really like some for mine.

Darren

Rear diffuser? whats that look like then:) I'll look into getting some B pillar covers over the weekend then. Would you happen to have a link please.

Darren

I thought that the door pillar doo dahs were Skoda/VAG parts. Hasn't Rob Clubley got a description on his site Pimp My Skoda!

sweet but for the extra few pounds it would seem the milo's look sturdy.
