Did the octavia Proud this morning

Featured Replies

Been told my octavia is a propper Q car this morning after been out on a hoon with the pistonheads forum. kept up suprisingly well with a TVR Tuscan down some backroads this morning, clio 182 sports, 350z, AMV8 and Porsches. all seemed to be suprised quite how quick the octavia was around the twisties! was good fun. just need to sort a rear ARB now to help shift off some of that understeer.

just thought id share.

Nice one. Sounds like a good day! It is surprising how well these things go!

Is the rear arb a good mod to do then??

Cheers

Definitely dude, makes it miles better. And a remap if you havent already.

Definitely, keeps it very flat around corners and you can really get some speed up into them, keeps the car very composed as opposed to rolling around like a boat.

my only concern is i don't want to turn it too oversteery with doing it as its something im not too used to. but no one has complained about it. remap is definatly one of the biggest improvements you can make.

I havent had this problem yet, it just keeps itself very neutral. Get an adjustable one then?

Is there a specific one that's recommended??

Cheers

Neuspeed 28mm adjustable rear arb, terrific piece of kit, no doubt Sarah will try to get your money out of you for one........LOL

I have that on mine!

Works very well

and on mine works a charm

do you have just the rear? or both the ones i gettin?

Whats the other one you have?

the R32 23mm ARB

I have The R32 23mm front arb and neuspeed 28mm rear on mine.

The neuspeed is set to middle setting and i do get a little under steer when pushing hard in the dry,but i prefer it this way. When it rains that changes to a neutral setting ad it does rain alot where live.

Will worth buying.

While you at it fit a powerflex dogbone mount bush.

So really the 22 mm rear bar i gettin is gonna be too week?

is the R32 bar adjustable?

is it worth fittin the r32 one with the whiteline 22mm rear?

I can't comment on the whiteline one,but i think it will be ok.

R32 front bar is not adjustable.I would wait till you have fitted the rear before deciding to do the front bar,if you haven't already done it.

yea the whiteline is adjustable mate

ok gonna do rear first see what its like on all settins then put front on and adjust the rear between all settings lol

Ill keep all posted on what happens

if you dont hear aut I will be in a hedge somewere in wales

Why not just go for the audi s3 lower brace up front with the whiteline arb at back? It tightens the front up nicely without inducing understeer which I believe is a prob with uprated front arb's......and do the dogbone as previously suggested,it really does transform the road holding and gear change

the dogbones?

can you fit them urself?

how easy are they

cheers

the dog bone mount the holds the box to the subframe.

Its easy enough to do you just need a trolly jack to hold the box while yo remove the mount and change the bushes
