Cat D car!

Featured Replies

Had a closer look at a pic and i am 99.999% certain that can't be a cat D.

I'm certain enough that I'm considering phoning VOSA to have them deal with the car/seller as that is a death trap.

I think the bent roof might just be a reflection, but the fact that then vents popped out and the gear stick looks like it have been forced back/up suggests to me serious bulkhead intrusion.

That plus you would need a new turbo minimum as that will be embedded in the bulkhead. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the car needed a new engine as I'd think the block/head will have sustained damage and the sump certainly will as it is only soft. Damaged sump = no oil = fooked engine.

Don't touch it with a bargepole mate

Plus if you read the ad the seller can't spell.

whats an exhurst and glude :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Dude, seriously.

Look at the state of that.

Do not touch this car unless you're helping to push it to the scrappy.

I agree the engine might be fooked, but the inside seems OK. The gearstick appears to be in the usual 2nd/4th/6th spot, but I reckon the engine has come into the bulkhead and is jamming the gearbox cables from moving. I reckon the gearbox itself is OK.

I reckon the centre vent was popped out to aid removal of the head unit - maybe he had an aftermarket one with some odd extra wiring?

The inside will need new dashtop, drivers airbag and seatbelt pretensioners though - expensive!

The roof is OK though. All that's happened is the right wing has moved back a bit, and the corner of it has interfered with the windscreen, cracking it quite badly. I reckon the A pillars and roof are not touched.

However - still a very dodgy motor.

Ive seen this a few times on Ebay.

If it was me, i'd walk away.

Im in the trade and trust me thats f**cked.

If thats CAT D, i own a Bugatti.

Ive just bought a Fabia SDI with 40k on it as CAT C.

It needed a new bonnet, lights, and rad, i repaired the f/bumper thats how minimal it was.

Had another look at the photo's and saw where the rev counter needle was.......

It's got heated seats and ESP though, might be worth buying for the control switches although looking at the damage I think the ESP wasn't working at the time:-)

Personally I would't touch this with a barge pole

Do you need any more pursuasion Jay, NOT to buy it?!? :D

And the fact it's not actually a vRS doesn't make the project worth even contemplating, IMO.

I would do it.

**** crashed his motor, then tries to recoup the losses. Prob by driving like a twonk to impress his mates or some bint.

If it were a proper fabia vRS I'd be up there to grab and keep it for spare parts. ;) Worth £300 for that at least.

Looks like alot of people don't want me to buy this, are they going to bid on it themselves?????

Decide to give it a miss, mainly due to to it being sold before.

Cheers everyone.

How the heck did he managed to break the alloy!! Jeeeze must of been one heck of a crunch!

From the side on view of the dash, looks like impact was around 50MPH.

Given that it looks like a lamppost strike, I'm assuming he hit the kerb. Kerb + 50mph = fooked ally!
