Featured Replies

Hi all,

In my spare time I have been valeting cars, on saturday I cleaned my bosses car a BMW (nothing special but a compact)

Here are the results.

Another car I have cleaned is my grandads ibiza 1.2 reference, it is only a year old and covered 1900 miles since march 2007 when my grandad picked it up with del miles on it.

This was a month after picking it up when I washed it.

Nice one

Good Work :D

Looks good!

Its worth trying to get a few more "before and after shots" if you want to show others what you can do and drum up a bit more business.

It might also be worth adding a write up of the methods and products you used - there are plenty on here that can give help and advice.

Cheers guys,

I'm currently making up a bebo page on my valets around my friends to drum up some more cars but my boss is going to get me some more work which is good at the moment, somethign I can do on a saturday morning for a few hours, if I was getting a lot of custom would consider going part time

Method & product needed definitely.

Was it simply a wash or any claying, paint cleansing, wax involved? LSP applied?

Difficult to judge photos properly this time of year but certainly looks nice and clean :)

the bmw was a wash polish and waxing session with trim cleaned.

The ibiza was a wyash and polish at the time but has since had a waxing.

I think it would be good if you got a new camera as the pictures taken of the washed cars don't impress as they intend to. I'm sure the cars look alot better in the flesh.

First Appearances are everything :)

Hope you do get more business. good luck

Should the thread not read "OUR valeting skills" then?? :P:rolleyes:;)

This maybe a tad OTT here but hey. If I was you I would try the following:

- Take lots off before and after pictures with a really good camera and good background ect

- Advertise on a Website your contact information and a few before and after pictures using 'Lightbox CSS'

-Place a link to that website within your sig and an advert in the local free papers

There are many people around that will help you get going and earn some extra cash no doubt.

Remember you will have to spend some money to make money sorta thing but hey - Thats life.

Very true it should read ours, but the majority of the time it is myself, SWMBO comes alongs and helps a bit if she can.

I've got a proper digital camera which i got a while ago which I will have to start using for this to see the results.

Robshaw - Your not OTT but I'm going to take your advice and start advertising in my local papershop and around the neighbours as well as take lots of before and after pics.
