 any info on the scout having the common rail fitted ?

VAG is doing some really weird stuff at the moment. The new big SEAT will be the old Audi A4 with a minor tweak to the styling. SEAT will not hide this fact of it being an old A4 either.

As in estate or people carrier ? About time SEAT got proper estate in it's lineup.

I think it’s their version of the Superb, if you see what I mean. Bet it sells for a year or two.

Just found the info on SEAT's website.... competing against mundanos and lagoons etc, due in 2009

auto.cz wrote some time ago that 1.6 TDI-CR is coming in 55 kW, 66 kW, 77 kW, 92 kW and 100 kW (136 hp)

Guess that Octavia will get the 77 kW instead of 1.9 TDI

Nope its just a rehash of the Fabia 1.

Any idea when the engines are coming? I'm particularly interested to know when the new engines will be coming to the Fabia - guess they'll hit both models at the same time?

Just looking on the Skoda UK website

and they now listing the CR Diesel

vRS 2.0 T FSI 200bhp 188 F / £210 £17,915.00

vRS 2.0 CR 170bhp 150 C / £120 £18,770.00

vRS 2.0 CR 170bhp DSG 1 59 D / £145 £19,905.00

DSG too

and the Tax is cheaper now in band 150 so £100

instead of 151 band was £125

iirc

Great stuff

Was about to order a 1.9Tdi 4x4 estate, but this thread has made me think again, Rang the Skoda dealer to ask what the situation is re new engines. They have been told to stop taking orders on some of the petrol engines, and that the 2.0l Diesel is being replaced in the VRS. Even the 2009 model year stuff does not yet mantion the changes to the Diesels, but he is going to talk to Skoda and find out...
