fly wheel/turbo problems with Octavia 1.9 tdi

Featured Replies

Hi new to site, wonder if any one can help on this one, I have a skoda octavia 1.9 tdi (55 plate) 116,000 on the clock. This car has always been sluggish to drive since new compared to our other one. Its been back to dealer many times but they could never find a fault, only changing the air flow meter. Over the last three months I have had to change the alternator and belts, starter motor, and then most recently the turbo. Following this there is a knocking noise which turns out to be the fly wheel. Skoda won't honour the warrantly due the mileage even though this car has been regularly serviced and has been back to them with the power loss since about 50,00 miles, wondering if any one else has experienced these problems. thanks

Hello and welcome. Sorry to hear of your problem. I would keep at the dealer , or even Skoda UK. If the flywheel is related to the power loss, you've informed the dealer within the warranty period. You may be able to argue this case, possibly split the cost, would be better for you. Hope you get it solved soon.

Hi.

Sorry to hear about your problem Did you replace alternator, turbo etc as assumptions that faults in these maybe causing power loss? Check out my posting "Update on sick Furbie vRS" and stick to your guns. The car was not fit for purpose when you bought it.
