Featured Replies

Ive decided to do full scan because ive not done one for donkeys....

Started at 19:12, now 20:25 and its done 3%. its munching up alot of my power too, 100% on a dual core

Kinda makes me realise just how much crap i have on my machine.. about 3/4 of a terabyte!

Ive decided to give kaspersky a try instead of AVG free.. as its alleged to be the best Virus scanner amongst geeks :D

EDIT: just noticed it has a estimated completion time, which is currently 2:30 AM:rofl:

Get a proper 'pooter then.

Or stop looking at you- porn all night, your 'pooter will go blind

HTH.

Kaspersky is very highly rated, if you want free use Avast.

AVG is pants.

It has found some bits.. nothing out the ordinary, just various varieties of java trojans (which dont affect me as i use firefox and noscript) and spam emails with virus attachments that i havent deleted yet..

Theres no substitute for common sense :)

A touch late to say that you should delete stuff that you mean to delete before running a scan? ;)

And an anti-recommendation; do not use S(L)Ophos Sweep.

NOD32 is the best, end of. :)

This coming from the person who leaves a loud computer in his room so he can't sleep ;)

Nice to see it's finished.

dumping your temp internet files and running a disk clean up before you start can make a big difference.

Thats exactly what I do - I use CCleaner then move on to Virus Scan. It works out about 20min at most.

10 minutes here usually. Ccleaner too.

Then sleep on the coach :)

why ? where is going to ?

Have binned off Kasperksy as its quite a hefty program that definately takes its toll on performance. got NOD32 now and it offers all the same features and its a bit lighter on the performance hit
