New tyres, now got racking problems

Featured Replies

I have a MY04 Octavia vRS and had two new tyres fitted yesterday and now the tracking is out. New tyres are on the rear and tyres that were previously on the rear were moved to the front, all tyre pressures are correct.

Not sure how moving the wheels around could put the tracking out, although it was THE most pikey place - good choice Black Circles shoot.gif, fitting was done on the uneven pavement using knackered old halfrauds trolley jacks by neanderthal 16yr olds who struggled to string two words together.

Anyone else got a car that you merely have to look at and the tracking goes out?

Looks like the cheaper tyres won't now be so cheap as it will cost me ~£40 to get the tracking donefurious.gif

Tyres I got were Falken 912's after recommendations on here, replacing the standard fit Continentals.

Falken 512 or Falken 452?

452 are good 512 are less so.

Sure it's the tracking and not just carp balancing?

Lots of places will check the tracking for free and only charge to adjust it. If it has gone wildly out, I'd be asking where they put the trolly jack and what they bent :(

You can get falkens 912's dont know to much about them compared to 452's. Regarding tracking more likely to be a balancing problem.
