Octavia Mk2 Passangers Door Rattle solution

Featured Replies

Came across this today, have you every cranked up the volume on a tune then started getting a rattle from the door so had to turn it down?

Well the best way to explain is look at the following video. I tie wrapped it up and its a lot better.

Be careful removing the door card as they are extremely easy to break, whomever removed mine before left me with a clip/piece of doorcard short ;).

Initially I thought it was just the pink locking part that was loose but the whole connector was actually loose.

You can order spare plastic clips at the dealer, or any large parts store, a couple of cents (well, pence, in your case) a piece.

One problem, its not only the clip thats gone, its what it attaches to aswell :(

Gaff your a genius this has been bugging me for ages, when sat in the drivers seat it sounds like its the seat belt knocking on the door pillar but now I know where to listen closer your bang on the money!

Glad to be of assistance

How do you get the door panel off?

I have a faint rattle coming from my rear near side door too... could it be the same thing?

I have the same question, how do you get the driver's/front passenger's door card off?

Maybe lubricating the window actuators will make them stop squeaking.

I followed this,

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/ice-security-insurance/how-remove-octy-ii-door-cards-speaker-sizes/51291/

although those plastic bits holding the snap fitting in place are a model to break :(. I didn't do the drivers side one.

BTW Be Careful with the light at the bottom of the doorcard. Might be best to pop it out and disconnect before starting ;)

  • 4 weeks later...

I've had my door cards off a few times to drop in new speakers and dynamat the doors.

Now they still rattle, but I put it down to excessive power (150w rms a side :) ).

Will have to have a look at that connector.
