any rumours on 2009 vrs

Featured Replies

I'm going to send this link to my local dealer!

the octavia vrs will probably only look different if there are any changes to the lights if the Fabia facelift and vRS is anything to go by.

The new 2.0l common rail unit is already in use in the new Audi A4 so there is no thunder to steal there

also as this is all just rumours, it's going to have a top speed of 170mph, do 90mpg and fly to Lanzarote in under 5 hours.

I remember the last rumour thread that went on for ages. A white Fabia vRS with the 1.8t petrol engine. And what did we get: A race blue Fabia vRS with leather seats.

I can't remember where I read it... but I'm sure it was mentioned that they're giving the Octy a bit of a facelift and installing LED lights on the back?

Don't quote me on it :P

The 2.0TDI-CR Octavia vRS will also be available with 6 speed DSG.

I knew if i hung on long enough they have to do it!

But i see a rather nice Seat "Black Mouth" with a 1.4 Twin Charger and 7 yes 7 Speed DSG!

Mike

The DSG vRS is still donkeys years behind the Golf et al.

More of a formality having it added now.

6 speeds not enough Mike? Cars will be like mountain bikes pretty soon with 21 speed boxes

As for LED's - Visteon demo'd some Octavia II LED rear lights ages ago so you never know.................

New Superb is getting the 7 speed DSG too for the 1.8TSI, with the gear change paddles on the back of the steering wheel. Don't know if the Octy is getting those or just the normal stick shift.

Geneva motor show... sorry link is in czech language only, it confirms 2.0 TDI CR for VRS.

Pictures shows 'facelifted' engine cover.

AutoRevue.cz - Octavia RS TDI common rail

Production should start during 22nd week (end of May).

No info on DSG/paddles yet.

 oh and btw, welcome to briskoda markparry :)

I'd be interested if they are going to be applying the New Facelift to the VRs

Tempted by the new Octavia, but looks the same inside and not sure I want the same inside car for another 3 years.

Don't really care what the outside looks like - don't see at 70mph on the motorway!

That said I wouldn't buy a Ka with racing stripes!

Isnt the Octy 3 out next year?

Spoken with local Skoda dealer, rumour has it that VRS MkIII factory build is scheduled to start in June 2009, delivery available Q4 2009. Upgraded 2.0T engine from Golf will be used. :)

Surely not. Facelifts are mid-life, not end of life..!

The facelift is Octy 2.5 ;)

An all new Octy (mk3) will be due soon. 2010 IIRC.
