favorit misfire under load

Featured Replies

hi everyone

any ideas on this would be very helpfull.

ive a 1993 favorit forman pickup 1289 cc , carb model .

when under load, i.e accelerating up a steep hill or "giving it some stick" i get this misfire ,(almost cuts out)

i take my foot off the gas and it returns to normal, ive changed, plugs, leads, coil, fuel pump, taken carb to pieces and cleaned it out, timing is spot on, it has a new distributor , and im at a loss of what else i can do , i avoid steep hills like the plague !

HELP !!

Sounds petrol related to me

hope someone here can help you better

Possibly the fuel filter?

These can often block up after a while.

If its the same as the felicia then its located near the rear of the car on-top of the fuel tank i think and is a pain to get to!

my favourite mis fire was on the tuscan - at full throttle at about 6500 it just used to mis for a little spit a flame then pull again round to 8000....

or have i misread the thread title?

Does the misfire happen at low revs, high revs, or any revs?

did you change the lead from the coil to the distributor? i know some lead sets dont come with that lead or one that is not long enough

Has the rotor arm been done as well?

Have you looked at the spark plugs to see if they reveal anything?

This sounds like a fuel problem but you never know! My guess would be the fuel fuel filter if it is not the pump. A clogged air filter wouldn't help either.

Another option would be an air leak somewhere

If electrical check the rotor arm as i changed one on a previous car and it gave similar symptoms.
