Prestige car servicing

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

My 20,000 mile service is nearly due on an '06 vRS but I hate paying the prices that the main dealers charge, so...

I've been searching for garages that would service cars which wouldnt void my warranty and I found one called prestige car servicing (Car service | Car Servicing - from £89 with Service A Car - Nationwide service and repair specialists), they claim to stamp the book and use skoda parts etc...

Has anyone used this service? Do you think its reliable? What did you pay?

Thanks,

PY

do you not have a VAG independent close by??

I dont know. I wouldnt know how to find out? Im in South Wales if any one knows of one nearby,

Thanks

surely you would have to buy a prestige car before you serviced it?

South Wales is a big area

There are a few in Cardiff (Mg Autos) as well as Germania in Newport

Sorry, Ystrad Mynach im at- bit more precise!

i am getting mine done at jbs in chesterfield they charge at 160 and the dealers are 220 around my end and they wont touch the remap lol

jbs is a long drive for Chesterfield and i think id rather let Kwik Fit have a go than jbs

ha ha sorry i only meant for a price comparison why do you not ike jbs? lol

i'd rather let upsy daisy and iggle piggle have a go than JBS.

oh dear whats wrong with jbs i thought they were up there with the best?

I think there have been some mixed experiences with JBS - I had no problems personally, I know some others had nightmare-like stuff.

However for a service, cant go that far wrong. I used main dealers and independants, but may end up doing more myself anyway for what I can do, it's not too difficult really for the basic oil/filter change

Well i booked the Octy in for front arb bushes and bar to be done.

Took the car down to be done and got a call claiming that the dealers had sent the wrong bar and when i offered to bring one from my local dealer they then squirmed about PowerFlex sending the wrong bushes which is impossible as they dont do them in the size that i needed.

I could have taken that but they said it would be in a weeks time as thats how long it takes to get them from PowerFlex.

So im summary they could organise a lash up in a brewery.

Id have been better off paying Awesome the extra £40 to do the whole job. Ahh well i know for for next time

I had the same when getting my ARB bushes replaced and it a fair old drive from Wakefield to chesterfield just to have some ARB bushes fitted as the wrong ones had been Ordered/Delivered, oh and 3 trips to have a RR done and each time the person that was needed wasn't in due to illness or busy with another client.

I'm happy with the work though, just took 2 attempts to get the ARB bushes done at 100mile round trip and no compensation

oh dear!! does not do jbs any good on the above i thought they were up there as one of the elite maybe not? mike however is a very helpful and friendly guy when i have called for any info either through email or calling which some companies dont even reply to your email until months later lol

I wouldnt mind as everyone makes mistakes but FFS there demo car is a vRS!! There should be no reason for them to find out that they cant get the bushes i asked
