Stupid Fabia VRS More Problems!

Featured Replies

Well I think I've had about enough of this bloody stupid car!

More things have gone wrong now!

I seem to have an oil leak (or i'm burning oil at an exponential rate!!)

I washed and polished the car on Sunday, checking the water, oil, washer fluid etc etc and everything was fine.

This morning I checked the oil whilst I was under the bonnet and its down to 1/3rd!!

The coil light thing has come on with the engine warning light that came on before.

I've taken the stupid Dragon tuning box off incise it was that but its still on so i've had to get a lift into work today as I don't want to drive the car!

This Fabia is possibly one of the most annoying cars I have ever come across! I'm seriously considering selling it and buying something that will be easier to live with!!!

Steve

That's a shame to hear mate :(

Sounds like you've got a lemon, it does happen.. havn't had any problems with mine.

They do use a bit of oil but not as much as you describe.

Have you noticed any oil on the ground underneath the car?

I know how you feel mate, I've had a car like that and that was ment to be a relalible Nissan!

I did exactly what you thinking of selling up and getting a focus instead.

Stick with it mate.

take it back to the dealer and have them fix it under warranty.

I just want to kick the stupid thing!

I am booking it back in the dealers this week - see what they say!!

Joel - Can't see anything under the car so it must be burning it!!

Just completely fecked off as I thought i'd treat myself to a more expensive, reliable and quick car but instead its not!

Wish i'd bought another Satria GTi as that never missed a beat and was a quarter of the price!!

Steve

I bet the oil seals have gone in the turbo and oil is being thrown into the air intake and intercooler.

When mine popped its turbo this happened and my sump emptied in about 15 mins .

I then got an oil pressure warning light and stopped just in time

ID be tempted to pull the bottom intercooler hose off and check for excessive ammounts of oil.

good luck my freind

john

Give the dealer a kick up the rear and ask them to sort the car and to your satisfaction.

It may well be in the plastic engine undertray which has lots of blocks in it which could hold a fair amount of liquid. Easy enough to take off if you're feeling inclined, but if you're losing that much oil, I'd be tempted to get it recovered (is the Skoda Recovery valid for the full time of the warranty) to the dealership to limit the extent of the damage.

Thanks!

My old man (ex mechanic) said he's coming for a look tonight so will suggest that he takes the hose off for a quick look!

Oh i will do - if you search my posts i think all i've ever posted about is naffing warning lights!!

I'll tell Dad to have a look at that too

Thank fook my bro is back from Uni at the mo - he's very kindly offered to lend me my old Corsa back for a couple of days!

Steve

I used to get my dad to write nasty letters to the garage where I had trouble, well it was nasty when they tried to denied all knowledge of where my car was when it came in a tow truck the night before and the fact they signed over that thet had the car, funny got my fixed in no time when that letter was sent.

Good luck with the garage mate, let me know how you get on.

Davy

coil light could just simply be a faulty brake switch , £6 for a new one

^^^^^More than likely

Have you actually ever found anything wrong with your car apart from a few warning lights?

You do many miles?

You do many miles?

1600 per month...ish!

Just got a call from the dealer.

They said the oil filter was fooked so have replaced that and 3 sensors (he didn't know which when I asked!!)

There were some error codes too which they've cleared.

They've put new oil in and a new fuel filter and say its running fine now

We'll see when I pick it up!

Steve

let us know how the car is going mate, hopefully that's it sorted and your faith restored in the car.

Thats quite a few TBH

TBH you wll get issue no matter what car you own if your doing that mileage. Also the Box would have put several components under strain.

The oil filter issue was just a duff consumable by the sounds of it. Thats what a warranty is for :)

Might be worth investing in VAG COM mate... I'll PM you.

Just picked the car up and it seems fine

The bloke at the garage was quite honest and said that he think's i've had a bad time of it

He's given me his direct desk number incase anything else goes wrong.

faith (might be) restored

Well - more problems!

It died this morning!

Sat at traffic lights and then /BLEUGH/ it cut out! I tried to restart it and NOTHING! Engine management and coil lights were back on again!

I had to push the car off the road and get it towed back to the dealers where it is now.

They can't understand what's wrong so i've left it with them again

Faith destroyed!

Steve

Thats gutting mate, feel for you.

Best to leave the car in the hands of the garage, perhaps a vw/skoda specialist might be called out to investigate if the dealer can't find anything.

They've just rung and said that 2 injectors have blocked completely since yesterday!

They're re flashing the ECU and other things to try and solve it.
