FEELER: PD140 312mm Brake upgrade

Featured Replies

Right having spoken to a few places and people I've found that the callipers on my PD140 are the same as those on the VRS and according to a seller the same as the Golf GTI (MK V).

So I've spoken to a car parts place and they would be up for doing a group buy, with a good discount, on the parts required:

- Pair of calliper carriers (£132.22 + VAT)

- Pair of 312mm Discs (£84.18 + VAT)

- Pair of pads (£42.44 + VAT)

Total Price £258.84 + VAT (304.14 inc VAT) before any possible discount

I am told they are all new, genuine VAG parts too.

They also sell TUV approved stainless braided brake hoses for about £30 which might be able to come to an arrangement on also, should people participate in the group buy.

Anyway, the list price for the carriers alone from Skoda was almost £200 + VAT, Steve will confirm my WTF!!! thoughts on this price as we were trying the Vega 16" alloy over the VRS front discs at the time.

So if you would be interested in buying the parts required at a discount, if the price is correct, then put your name below:

1) Cheezemonkhai

2)

Worth mentioning this on the UK Passats forum, as the parts needed are the same. Likewise for the Mk1 Octavia (although would need a different drill pattern on the disks).

Also, VAGParts do the carriers for £105 inc VAT + postage to forum members... ;)

Aye, I'm talking to said company and it might be a better discount from what was briefly discussed on the phone, depending on quantity.

The carrier part number for the MK IV and MK V golf appaear to be different, so I'm only going to say it fits the MK II Octy at the moment.

Feel free to mention is on the passat forum though :)
