Just bought a VRS Octavia mk1 off ebay and picking it up this weekend. Early 2001 model. Looks fantastic and cant wait to get it.

I have read quite a few reviews about this car and they all seem to say its great. Good purchase?

Omg I love this car. Actually we both love this car. First time we've ever both agreed on a car. Drives superbly despite the miles. Sexy as hell. And she's actually up for remapping it! Gonna be a freedom member soon :-)

Thanks mate. Are there any n00b postings that can steer me towards upgrading the engine at all? Not sure if I want to yet but just want to keep my options open. The dad has an Audi TT 225 (or 220?) and he is taking the **** out of me. I keep telling him I can fit both my kids and my dog in mine but he's having none of it

There are loads of things you can do to the 1.8T but the best bang for your money would be a remap and there are plently to chose from Jabba, REVO, Custom Code to name just a few. Most will take the standard 180bhp and up it to around 210bhp

Try the search function and it should bring up plenty of threads which will explain in more detail.

The nearest tuner to you that I can think of that I'd trust is Agra Engineering in Dundee, and given that I'd take a VAG car on to Star in Dunfermline.

BTW it's Edinburgh.
