Can You Fit A PD160 Intake To A Petrol Fabia?

Featured Replies

Ive got skoda fabia 1.4 mpi 8 valve and wondered if the air box is the same as the VRS? Ive searched up the pd160 part on here and the VRS airbox does look a similar size. Have you got any help or suggestions guys?

Regards

Dan

Stop playing with your toy and buy a real car instead.

You know you want to.;)

If you are talking about the trumpet and hose to the airbox, Dont really see why not.

Would suggest going to a local meet and checking with someone who has one fitted.

I would love one, shame i carnt afford 1 yet tho! i am very impressed with my classic so i think a vrs will be on the list eventually

Yeah is there any local skoda meets in lincolnshire?

I mite consider the 160 intake and a panel filter for abit of a smoother pull in the rev range

I did consider putting the 'leftover' PD130 intake into my wife's car when I put the PD160 into mine, but there doesn't appear to the the necessary lugs in the slam panel to connect the trumpet end of the pipe to it. Plus, the narrowness of the MPi intake suggests to me that something the size of the PD160 intake would just be wasted effort (and at £75 a pop, a waste of cash that could be better spent on something that would actually work...!)

He said driving a small diesel skoda ;):D

I agree with ap0gee, I wouldn't waste your money

You will see little or no gain from doing this so I'd leave it

Don't think you need one or can fit one! Non Turbo petrol cars are water cooled not air cooled!!!

Quite!

Exactly what I was thinking...

I think you can buy a 'sports' type air filter for the 1.4 8V engine , it wont do much for you , power wise, but at least it will fit!

Although both turbo and non-turbo petrol cars need air in the combustion chamber (more available air, more fuel can be injected and the bigger the bang) and this is what the PD160 intake achieves!

Whether it'll make any difference is another matter, but it's just a length of hose feeding the air box.
