Hello from an Essex lad!!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Im new on this site, my name is sam, im from the edge off Essex in Clacton on sea..

I will be takeing delivery of my 02reg Vrs next Tuseday! YAY!! I have jumped ship from a 51reg Honda Civic Type R which im gutted about parting company with, but the new octavia im getting is far more practicle and has bugger all millage on it 14k for an 02 car !!! From what i have found out about it, it sat in a show room in Colchester for 3-4 years and a guy bought it and in 18months the car put on its 14k miles. She is mint and really looks like it should still be in the show room!

A question i have is, its white? The only white ones i was aware of were the WRC cars? Mine has`nt got the plack on the dash with the build number or the decals, although it does have every possible extra that skoda did for it? What is the deal with this car?? It looks really smart!!

Sam :)

An Essex lad with a white car... who'd have thought of that...? ;) I totally agree, white cars are lush

I am an Essex girl (well sort of). What garage did you get it from?

As soon as i get it i will get some pics posted up.

I'm in Waltham Abbey near Junction 26 of the lovely M25...

Yep, Of the MK1's there were a few police specials made and 100 fully loaded WRC editions that normally came stickered up (I think the stickers can still be ordered)

The Mk2 in white are not officially out in the uk but there are literally one or two about in the country.

hello and Welcome to briskoda :D

Shame about the Type R...

Thanks mate, big shame about the Type R, one of the best cars i have ever owned and possibly the most fun you can have on four wheels for the money, but their comes a time when you need a bit of comfort back in your life. If i had the choice, i would have both, but money wont allow so she has got to go. It will be hard to hand the keys over tusday but their will be a white VRS waiting for me! yay!!

I know what you mean - Enjoy your new car and make sure you post some pictures up

All the best for pick-up day,

Rob

Arr the M25 what a lovely road , one of my most hated roads ever, even more so since they put the average speed camaras up between the a12 and the enfield junction!:thumbdwn:

Erm, are you sure about that? Do you mean from the A12 at J28 to the Enfield turn off at J25? There were average speed cameras through the Holmsdale tunnel, but all the refurbishment work is finished a while back.

As far as I know (and I do know) there are none in between those junctions.

Their are camaras anti-clock wise from the a12 to enfield, their are two or three new ones going up buy the massive Sainsbury`s central warehouse. Their are 3 cams between the A12 junctiona and the M11 junction. they are their, well they were the other week when i drove round:confuse::)

What you mean CCTV cameras?

Those aren't speed cameras - I work for the Highways Agency and those are the cameras I use to spy on people.

Ahhhh ha! So you are one of the people behind the camras. i havent just bought a white VRS... errr heemmm. no i drive a ford fiesta:orb_phew:.....

Thought the camaras on the big yellow poles that hang out over the carrigeway were average speed cams? they are all a bout a mile apart? are they just CCTV then? Can i do ungodly speeds round their then in my transit van(kidding)!! hehe.

As promised, well a start anyway, got a pic of the new VRS from the dealer website, now in the photos section of the member area.

The yellow cameras between the A12 and the M11 junctions are not speed cameras, well they are not active as there has to be signposts warning of them. The poles up between j26 and 25 are left over from the Holmsdal tunnel upgrade when it was 50mph.

I dont feel so bad now after the speed i went throught their the other week (which im not going to disclose)..:P
