Fuel price

Featured Replies

I've just filled up with diesel at Shell, Dumfries(same price as morrisons & tesco) price has gone up today to 110.9ppl:eek:

Now we are in a rural area with more often than not no useful alternative public transpot so a car is the only real option. I drive approx 13000m for work and 10000 private per year. Our mileage rate for work in line with HM Revenue is 40p mile for the 1st 10000m and drops to 25ppm there after. This has not changed since 2002 but fuel has increased from 70p or so per litre.

I'm not one for slating fuel companies and high profits cause that is why they are in business and it is good business to make money what appals me is the revenue gathered using the smokescreen that is the Governments excuse that they are trying to cut emmisions etc. Fair enough in urban areas there are alternatives but rural occupants who are often on low wages have honestly no option but to drive in many respects. So we are basically totally screwed!!

Rant over

cheap to compared down here ;)

Heard that by April it could something like 120ppl, of course HMG still determined to increase the duty at the next budget! Went to one of my annual exhibitions, and there wasn't as many stalls, so guessing fuel prices are starting to kick in. Guess if goes up any more, will have to start cutting back on weekend outings.
