A Charging System Thread... !! Help!

Featured Replies

Right... Got my Felicia... And am liking it...

But have noticed that when I'm driving, and I Indicate, my airbag light dims with the indicator flash... (My airbag light is always on!)

Also, when I have my headlights on at night, I can just see the alternator light on... Not bright, but just on. This is with full and normal beam.

The charge light doesn't go out when I rev the engine...

And with the Fan on 4, Rear Window heater on and the headlights with full beam on, everything slows right down.

:o

Anyone got any suggestions apart from a failing alternator?

As the battery always charges...

Any gen on where?

the rear window heater is one of the heaviest loads on your electric so it is normal for there to be a slight drop off on fan speed etc. However if your charging light is on then i would suspect your alternator is possibly on its way out. Run a test to check everything is charging as it should when you have a lot of electrics on.

As for your airbag light you should be able to put this out with a handy bit of diagnostic software and a laptop.

OBD2 OBD II Diagnostic USB Cable KKL VAG COM 409.1 BD01 on eBay, also, Diagnostic Tools Equipment, Garage Equipment Tools, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 23-Feb-08 09:54:36 GMT)

The above is the right cable i understand and heres the software.
