NEW Octavia -- not till OCTOBER!!!!!!

Featured Replies

Spoke to Gorners in Warrington today re the new Octavia trying to get a handle on final spec of the elegance model and pricing.

Dont Know came the repsonse - had nothing from Skoda yet - going to the preview day at the motor show - hoping to find out more then.

Couldnt give me any idea at all - but did say that if I ordered one at the motorshow I would not see it before OCTOBER!!! :thumbdwn:

Although how the hell they expect anyone to order one when they don't know how much, what the final spec will be and what options will be available is beyond me :(

looks like classic Skoda ****-up again - will be down to us to find out what and when !!

He did say however that I could download a PDF file with all the details in - which I have already done - just the standard Geneva show blurb - doesnt really give any detail.

But I did notice one major flaw --

NO BLACK MAGIC !!! :thumbdwn:

Looks bland as bland can be!

They better make a good vRS.

My dealers getting one for the showroom in couple of weeks. Will post some info then.

I'm sure Alex Lawrie in Liverpool is also getting one soon.

Seems to be standard thing the dealers being the last to know.

I'm sure we'll have a good look & get plenty of pics at the motorshow ;)

Today I received the latest price list from Skoda(Minus NEW octavia) but I did see that at last it shows ALL the options for the Fabia Xenons,SatNav, Heated Seats et al

At least they got there in the end!!

Had a word at my local dealer today re the new Octy, and they know sweet FA too.

Only info they've had is to expect in about 2 months....

Its no great surprise that they are keeping it quiet , as they would like to keep selling the old model for now. As soon as they give a definate date for the new one they will find it near impossible to shift the old stock.

Yeah even tho my request was for NEW octavia - they sent the current brochure - can't blaim them for trying I suppose.

It's not exactly a secret is it? All the magazines have been banging on about it for a year or so, and as this week sees the official launch any cloak & dagger stuff is a bit silly.

Sure we've known about it for ages , but there are a hell of a lot of people out there who don't read/watch top gear and the like who would be unaware.

Its a difficult choice for a salesperson. Do they try and flog them the current car , or let them know that there is a better model due in a couple of months and risk losing the sale.

Prices for the new model were confirmed on Tuesday of this week. They look very competitive to me.

Also interesting options list including 17" alloys coupled with sports suspension. If I get the chance will put them up here later.

Please do.

I may well be changing my octy when it gets back from being repaired and at the mo I'd consider either a new one or another old shape depending on the price.

According to the staff at the Motorshow, the models they had on display come in at aproximately

Thats not too bad , although I'm sure there will be some very good deals on the old model ones coming soon.

If I can get a new or as new PD130 elegance or L&K for a couple of grand under list then I'd go for that.

If i was thinking of changing, i'd wait a few months...

So you Brits thought you were constantly getting the bad end of the deal from Skoda? Well, not if comes down to pricing!

Your 500 pounds up on the old Octavia (so 700 euros) is peanuts compared to what they are planning in Holland.

Just came back from my dealer where I tried to get my father-in-law into an Octavia - he'll have a fully-dressed old one - and talking to the same salesman who sold me my 4x4 I can quote him as stating the new model will cost at least 2000 euros more here, but 2500 euros will be more likely. :(
