i like these,a little more chalenging to look at than the old ones but very nice:thumbup:

I once drove a 172 cup(i think)and it was awesome,if a bit cheap feeling,and a little uncomfortable,but i believe renault have sorted these problems,get some miles on it and do a full review:thumbup:

git, beat me to it :P

nice cars! had a test drive in one on friday, very nice! the noise aswell :D

did you get any options? and do you mind if i ask how much you payed?

Nice

I had a 172sport & it was an absolute blast & it went round corners:rofl:

Its a shame they didn't shoehorn the turbo'd engine from the Megane.

Plenty of cheap plastics inside:thumbdwn: nowhere near as well put together as my Octy. Fitting the parrot meant pulling apart the centre console and glove box, only a couple of screws holding it all in:eek: Most of it is just clipped in place:rofl:

Gave the bodywork a good polish as well (by hand:mad:) The panels actually flex when you apply light pressure:rofl: That French steel is very thin:eek:

Done a three hour drive on Saturday without any stops. When I got out of the car I was supprised to find I had no leg or back pain which I did get during long drives in the Octavia. I find the seats very supportive and comfortable. Shame it doesnt have somewhere to rest your right foot when using cruise control:mad:

I wouldn't buy a French car looking for outstanding build quality. The 197 more than makes up for it's shortcomings with an exhilarating driving experience:D I just wanted to keep driving yesterday but swmbo wanted to arrive at a destination booooo:rofl:

It does make a nice noise. There is a guy on youtube with a Cup Exhaust (whatever that is) which sounds the nuts. Might be a bit overbearing on motorway runs though, it's already loud on the m/way and that's when doing 70mph in 6th gear. It really needs a 7th & 8th gear:rofl:

No options, it's a standard 197.

July 2007 model

Paid £12200 from a Renault dealer with 5000 miles up. I know you can get a new one from online brokers for not much more but I was being lazy and couldn't be bothered to shop around:D I did actually go there to buy a grey one on a 57 plate but it was sold just before I got there:mad: That one was going for £13K

I think they are a fantastic bargain when you consider the grin factor.

Imagine that:eek: I might try the Magane 225 come car change time. All depends how reliable this Clio turns out to be.

V.nice mate, only commented yesterday that I'd fancy one of these (the older version that is) for banging round a track as I reckon it would be a right hoot :)

A pain in the proverbial to work on apparantly! :thumbdwn:

A friend has just got one (with black wheels) - It's a great little car.

They are worth it - I never thought I would like the new clio but hey I said it.

Goodluck with the new car and keep us updated ;)

182/172 or a Williams. Ideal track weapons, cheap enough too:thumbup:

Looks really nice that mate, wouldn't mind one myself!

Lovely motor Chris. Can recommend the Meg 225, should you need anything bigger. Still goes round corners extremely well.

A good friend of mine has the 225 Cup. Changed my impression of modern Renaults that did

Steve

I like that! Don't see many Renaults out here in the colonies!

I like the placing of the exhausts, though it does have a bit of a fat ar_e :D
