bloody hell they hold their money

Right guys,

I am currently in a decision making process of whether i should spend some money on my Octavia (remap induction, tidy up etc)

Or change cars.

I have been thinking about what i'd like to change for. Well i don't want to spend a lot and on the whole i am very happy with the performance / build quality of my Octavia.

So the V.A.G group is a definate possibility. VW's are out of the question as i resent paying extra for a car made with the same parts just because of a badge. This also applies to the Audi group.

So another skoda (no point) or a seat. I really like the cupra and as it has the same 1.8t lump i know i'll like the drive etc. I like its looks more than the Octavia so if i was to change it would be for one of them.

However i've just had a loom and they sell for more than i expected! where they a lot more than the skoda new???

p.s my other consideration is the Accord Type R

Or shall i tune up the old octy?!?!?!

Keep it and tune it :D

You know want to! :orb_hypno

i'd say spend a some on yours, maybe a remap and some spring/dampers

there's more between seat/skoda and vw/audi than the badge too ;)

like what?

Mate keep yours.

Cupras are still fetching a decent amount as the MK2 hasnt really been out that long so people are still holding on to them.

Plus its better to blow people off and show them the Skoda badge :D

You would buy the Cupra and still want to tune it so you may as well stick with the Octy

Agree with Stu there.

If its more performance as your main objective, then keep the Octy and fettle it. :)

Interesting that you picked the Accord as an alternative as it's not really the same sort of car. I'd probably pick the Teg over the Accord, but it depends what you're after and available budget.

Another option would be to trade your car in for an already modded car which might save you a few quid if you can find one with the right mods. Lots seem to be out there :D

like what?

bits and bobs really; interior plastics and the like, the way they're screwed together, that sort of thing...or so I'm led to believe :o

the reason i looked at the seat is it has a bit more power without modding so insurance aint a problem its a standard car.

Its the thing thats putting me off modding mine i hate talking to insurance companies everythings a problem with a standard car so if i said i've had it chipped i can see me being on the phone for ages they hear the word mod and just think great we can have his pants down now!

It depends which insurers you talk to. People like Adrian Flux, Chris Knott, etc are all performance oriented and understand most of the mods and you might find the cost is not as expensive as you think.

Worth a try getting some quotes to feel the water :D
