you need an aerial amp. it comes with all cables and a cage.

you also need a section of plastic which sits above the head unit, below the buttons for heated rear window and traction control.

cheers where,s best to get the amp from, anywhere you recommend thats pretty cheap, also can you use the bluetooth connection and ipod cable together? does ot have a microphone built in?

sorry about all of the questions!!!

thanks

this is the aerial amp you need, you can probably get it cheaper elsewhere, although i'm not sure where as i already had one laying around that i bought years ago.

Car Audio Direct - Aerial adaptor - Fitting Adaptor

yep bluetooth and ipod can be used together, and the bluetooth addon comes with a microphone.

thanks mate your a big help, one last and final thing i promise!!!

does the ipod adapter work with the ipod touch?

thanks tom

yep, works with the ipod touch, although you will need to do a firmware upgrade to your unit. i needed to update the firmware so my new 3rd gen video nano worked.

I would also recommend getting a dremmel at the back where the unit goes, as there is a whole lot of wires with that stereo (I have it in my Fabia) and you will struggle to get it in, especially with all the other adapters you are adding in! Slight bit of trimming, it'll slot straight in!

slot straight in is a bit of wishful thinking with the kenwood double din unit, it really does have a hell of a lot of cables.

mine was an absolute mission to fit all the cables in, i ended up taking out the glovebox and pulling some of the cabling out behind there to free up some more space.

So what is the sound quality of a unit like this like?

I've begun putting aside some cash for something as the octy is a bot poor. I was toying with an MFD unit but te ability to put a dvd in is tempting.

Can it be linked to screens in the back too??

Cheers

I've got the Pioneer HD1 BT fitted into my SE. DVD, Bluetooth, Phone, Radio, TV, teasmaid, it's TDB.

the kenwood does divx which is what made it attractive for me. plain old dvd's just don't cut it for me anymore, when with divx you can get 4 or 5 films on a disc. it also does mp3 dvd's which is a nice touch.

it sounds like its going to be a bit of a mission to fit!!! whats a dremmel?

its getting delivered on friday, cant wait!!!!

I have the ddx 6029 in mine, There is a lot of wires, but I didnt need to use a dremmel, (which is a little power tool with attatchments for cutting, grinding etc)

Just feed all the wires into the spaces right at the back.

It takes patience, and preferably someone with small hands (I got the missus to feed them in)

The end results are well worth it though, as the unit is great and looks a treat.

The small plastic trim piece you need, I recommend the official Skoda one from the dealer, as at first I had an aftermarket one, which does'nt fit anywhere near as good as the proper one

Here is a pic to whet your appetite for yours :D

If you want an official Skoda trim for a couple of quid let me know as I have a spare in the garage (although they may not be much more from a dealer)
