Fun insurance for young and convicted drivers?

Featured Replies

Our Fun is currently insured with Zurich through Endsleigh for my eldest 26yr old son who has 6 yrs NCB and my 19yr old son who is still on a provisional (test 2 May). The cost is £904 TPF&T with protected NCB. I have just finished an 18month disqualification, still have 7yrs NCB and would like to be added to the policy. Zurich won't touch me and Ensleigh's only offer is over £2700!!!

Best offer so far with other companies are around £1600 TPFT. Main problem is many companies don't seem to have the Felicia Fun on their books. anyone got any suggestions please?

I have just finished an 18month disqualification?

sorry mate you r going to get shafted for that, insurance companies love something to make a song and dance about to push the price up

Try National Farmers' Association (NFU Mutual). They don't just do farmers, and know their stuff when it cones to things which are (technically) commercial vehicles.

I've just bought insurance for mine and it is through Norwich union, via the post office.

I got there through compare the market.com

The problem is, you need to look for van insurance, not car insurance.

I have van insurance, but for social and commuting.

some regular car insurers will not insure it as it is a single cab pick up :S ( even though it has 4 seats lol but don't even try and argue that with them! )

I'm 20 and I am paying £134 / month TPF+T + legal cover for my T reg fun

try fully comp.

When i was 18, with 0 yrs NCB.

My felicia Laurin and Klement 1.6 is £105.82 per month.

Hopefully this month now i'm 19 and have 1 yr NCB.

Im hoping it will be much lower.

Trouble is, I can't get Fully comp as a convicted driver - Thanks anyway

I think all you can do is shop around. Have you tried confused.com etc?

Suppose if nothing else this is a lesson to everyone else and your kids on the need to drive within the law.

wow silly money

last time i insured mine i was 21, it is specked as fully mod, the works, suspension brakes wheels tyers anti roll bars exhaust, the lot

tpt&t for £344

Try Brentacre, they dont have an online thingy but if you do a serach you'll find their number, they were the only one that would touch me for the fun.

the aa just provided me with the most competetive quote, £330 for the yr, fully comp and Im 30, then again I live in Manchester and work in Liverpool, if its going to get robbed I got all bases covered.

Ive got my fun insurance with a company called Fortis via the post office £231 fully comp ncp
