Car damaged during service

Featured Replies

My Skoda dealer just rang to say that the service was complete, but the car was damaged while parked on the lot. They have offered me a courtesy car but I'd rather get a discount on the service. What's other people experience of this been?

By the sound of it they are offering the courtesy car whilst they repair yours? If so, then hats off to them owning up to it rather than fobbing you off saying they are waiting on parts to finish your car off.

They damage it, give you a car whilst they repair it, give it back as good as new (and prob. valeted too). Why do you want money off?

The garage certainly seems to be doing the right thing here. Accidents happen and they've owned up to it straight away. Hope it's sorted quickly.

Do you know what the extent of the damage is? That would be my main concern....

Dont take money off..you'd only have to go spend it to get the damage fixed.

They've admitted doing damage, so milk it ! :D

My car has been damaged twice by the dealer that sold it to me and each time I had to point it out to them AND wait months for them to sort it out. The last time they failed to sort it out to my satisfaction so they have lost another customer.

Accidents happen you seem to have an honest dealer there, take the loan car and only let them have it back when yours has been repaired to your satisfaction.

Go and see the damage for yourself ASAP and then judge what to do next. A courtesy car and your car fixed sounds good to me.

Agreed. My only caveat would be that I'd expect a car of equal or better quality in these circumstances.
