Been told my console bushes need changing on the Fabia and wondering if there's anywhere cheaper than the main dealers so far had the following quotes

£230 Longley Park Skoda

£219 + Parts Richard Alexander Volkswagen

£200 DM Keith Limited

£160 Independant Volkswagen Specialist (Never heard of them)

Would Ideally like the cupra bushes fitted but none of the above garages want to touch anything but the original parts.

cupra bushes are original parts,from a seat,they go in the same consoles,so tell them to do it its the same job after all:thumbup:

We do them for £99 + VAT , you would need a geo afterwards too £67.50 + VAT

Then the parts are approx £7.80 each

We do Powerflex ones on the front at the same time too

Not as easy as OEM but if you are doing them , may as well upgrade

I have just had a quote for fitting consule bushes from a Skoda outlet either Skoda or Seat bushes can be fitted. They charge the same as Awesome to fit but they said they mark the areas they work on so that you do not need a geo check. My question is do you in fact need a geo check as Awesome offer or do you not..:confused:

I wouldn't trust Huddersfield Dm Keith's mechanics from past experience if they are the same as Lightcliffe's were. And that's if they manage open shop when you've booked it in.

Longely Park did my CamBelt and a front wheel bearing (plus they original supplied mine) and they seem to do a fairly good service.

I've seen the Independent VW Specialist on Manchester Road, but not had need to get any work done.

So you can shop here then at Trafford :lol:

Any work that is done on the front of the car it is reccomended that the geo is done afterwards too

The bushes is easier to be done with the arm off the car rather than on so it is quite a big job so it is worth getting it done , especially when you think that a pot hole can knock the geo out
