Fabia vRS... based on a Golf? Polo? or Neither?

Hi - did a quick search on this one...

as Skoda is part of VAG, and i've noticed parts on my vRS resembling my mates golf mk4, i was wondering... size-wise (car dimensions), is it based on the golf or the polo? (or neither?)

Polo IIRC

Octavia is Golf based, Superb is a stretched Passat base.

New shape Polo (9n), SEAT MK4 Ibiza and Skoda Fabia all share the same platform.

Audi A2 also shares same suspension and driveline components just mounted onto an aluminium shell.

top gear (i think) observed that this was a bit ironic as the skoda got the new platform well before the new polo!!

Same as when Skoda got the 180 1.8T engine before VW IIRC ;)

And wasn't the Octavia released befoe the Golf 4?
