You are obviously a Skoda mechanic from your previous post history which was quite helpful and accurate. Now i stand by my previous post which is stating you are obviously trolling. Leave the beer alone and go to bed.

and a peloquin atb diff makes the car handle like it has no right too, can't wait to destroy those scooby's at blyton later thi month:rofl:

Have i mentioned my new diff?

I heard a vicious rumour that your car has had a new diff fitted - I knew straight away it was total rubbish. I mean who needs a LSD? Are they living in the 60's or what?

When I bought the vRS I intended to keep the car standard, with the one possible exception of having leather fitted as it was quite obvious from day one that the normal seats would annoy me.

A year down the road and I have a few run of the mill mods fitted to my car now - RARB, full leather, Cupra bushes, pikey mod etc. Nowt flash, but then after owning the car a little while I felt there were some obvious areas that could be imporved for little cost and that would save me trying to go out and buy yet another car that was nippy enough, handled well enough, good on fuel, practical etc etc etc.

These few simple mods now mean that I do partially get the best of all these worlds.

Sure, I could go out and buy an Impreza, pay through the nose for fuel, tax and insurance but I don't want to just to have a car that handles and goes well.

The PSA cars handle well but are made of tin foil and the HDi engines simply are not strong enough IMO (owned one and the missus owns one before Snoopy comes along accusing me of knowing nothing again).

To be honest there's no such thing as a well rounded car from the factory IMO unless you want to spend quite a bit of money. This is where modding comes in. You get a car that's nice enough and you fill in the gaps with a few mods rather than putting up with the deficiencies.

Many people choose not to mod and that's fine, but you get them in a car that has been modded and many opinions change. Get someone without a RARB in a car that has one and the look on their face when you attack a roundabout is most amusing - I know because I was one of them.

Cupra bushes are simply a must too I'm afraid - not just for feel etc, but for durability. The stupid voided bushes failing every 10k miles (and costing a fortune to replace each time) was not an option for me.

At the moment I'm seriously considering a remap too after living with the standard power for just over a year. Most of the time it suits me fine but every now and again I really want some more straight line speed, especially when the car is loaded with passengers and the performance drops noticably. My only reason for holding off are the insurance implications (cost), but we'll see.

Just to add (a point that just popped into my head) - it's like doing up a house.

When you move in, there's always things you're not happy with, regardless of how nice it is. Do you move house just to get those other things you want, like a nicer bathroom or kitchen etc? Not likely - you change it to better suit your desires.

Sure, if the changes required are too massive then you buy another house but for subtle 'gap filling' then the sell up and change approach is overkill.

To be honest there's no such thing as a well rounded car from the factory IMO unless you want to spend quite a bit of money.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here, Chris. If you are coming from a 1.2 Corsa the Fabia vRS is going to be the fastest thing on the planet and handle brilliantly. If you've driven a fair few cars, your previous experience highlights deficiencies and this seems to be where the modders are coming from.

I have great trouble keeping a car standard, but it seems to be getting better
