Just wondering if any one knows how the insurance front is affected with factory fitted options, do they have to be notified as modifications? For example a 2.0ltr TDI elegance with xenon, multi function steering wheel, sat nav and esp.

IIRC you tell them but since they are factory options they shouldn't up your insurance.

As above, you have to tell them but as not retrofitted will not affect insurance

Having just recently bought my vRS i enquired about factory options as mine has quite a few "extra's". I was told that as long as the car has not been modified with any parts (cosmetic and/or performance related) that are not available as a factory option that it would not in any way affect my insurance! I checked with them mainly because of the upgraded b14 18" alloys that mine has, but as it was fitted from new & is a genuine Skoda part which is an optional extra at the time of ordering, it made no difference!

The insurance advisor told me that had i purchased a set of 18" wheels from Halfrauds or somewhere that it may be a different story, although even then he said the difference in premium if any, would be marginal!

As darren says as long as the car is as it left the factory for in surance purposes its considered standard....
