I'm having problems with the starting of my engine My skoda Felicia(T reg). when i've actually completed part of the journey, then stopped and tried to start again, it goes through the motions of wanting to start but wont. I have to get out of the car and open and close the car door(key) and try again( i was given this adviceby a friend), sometimes i have to do this several times and then it starts. Could any person tell me what's wrong? Dave

When you say 'stopped and tried to start again', how long are we talking about the engine not running for? If it's only a few moments, warm starting issues affect quite a few cars. But then your little 'routine' suggests an immobilier problem. If you really are only stopped for a few moments, you may be as well leaving the engine running as not only might it help avoid the problems you've been having, but it'll be better for your battery and starter motor, and may actually use less fuel overall than stopping and starting again...
