Seeing your old cars

Featured Replies

I'm gutted. Had a text from my mate last night saying he thought my old Evo was parked up near his house, so i had a wander round there today...... I nearly cried. The car that i spent an absolute fortune on, kept absolutely pristine was sat on the driveway looking like a reject from scrapheap challenge. It has a family of magic trees hanging from every available space, a lovely dent in the rear n/s door, the gloss black Pro-Race alloys are scuffed and grey with dirt, the shiney metallic silver bodywork is covered in a layer of dirt and mud, the rare and rather expensive carbon front splitter is cracked and 2 of the equally expensive Ralliart mudflaps have been torn off

What makes it worse was that i didnt want to sell it but had to as i changed jobs and couldnt justify keeping it.

Its the first time i've seen one of my old cars although the same happened to my old man when he sold his mint Nova GTE several years ago. It was gorgeous, sensible mods, crackibng bright red body work and mint white compomotive mo's. We saw a few months later........ paint peeling off the rear bumper, parcel shelf out and what looked like a tonne of saw dust in the boot and kerbed wheels.

Think people should be made to sign a contract promising to look after the car when they buy it!

hmm, car's I've owned?

Well, fabia mk1 - won't be seeing that again - I made sure of that

fabia mk2 - well I still own it and it's going nowhere. ;)

I feel your pain though.

At the end of the day you have to remind yourself they are lumps of metal...

Never saw my first two cars after I traded them in. They're both off the the DVLA tax register now.

I stll see my old focus ocationally. I do regret trading it in when I see it. It was a good car and better than the Clio I swapped it for.

My mate's got my old Astra. It was a pile of crap when I practically gave it to him but I had it for 7 years so it still hurts a bit when he pulls up and it's covered in bird crap :( I keep feeling the urge to tell him to wash it once in a while but then have to remind myself it's just an aging bit of metal that doesn't even belong to me.

Know how you feel, but it's life I guess.

Have never seen any of my old cars, the only cars I see are my dads old ones and most of them are over 10 years old now!

Davy

never seen any of my old cars either, tho i've had sooo many of the things that i don't say i would remember it even if i did see one again

I'd be surprised if i saw one of my old cars, Ran them into the ground and then scrapped them. The Furby's my first new car.

Seen one of mine that I traded in. the dent in the door has gone. LOL

Not seen any of the others.

My old car has been spotted in wishaw, motherwell and glasgow way about 45 miles from where I sold it.

The only time I seen one of my last cars was a week later at the dealers stuck on a double yellow line looking very sorry for itself but have never seen anybody driving it.

I sold a Citroen ZX for about £250 as spares/repair needing a new cylinder head, and then saw it again locally looking well about 3 years later!

You can check if your old motors are still taxed on the DVLA website

my old vrs is for sale on ebay. broke my heart, I loved that car

i see the red(now pink) punto i had before 1 car ago occaisonaly never seen my last car though.... as for previous cars never saw my ibiza.... but my renault 5 used to get seen regularly untill i heard the thing had an elictrical fire... and my first car was sold on to someone who just wanted the shell for a hillclimb project....
