Hello to all you forum people.

I picked up my VRs from Newmarket garage in Bannockburn yesterday and I still have a stupid grin on my face,, brilliant car, I hope it justifies the praise it gets for reliability.

Did I get a good deal ? 2006 55 plate 15k £8995 ?

Couple of small niggles,, is the tiny rattle from the glovebox a common thing ?

And, the centre display in the speedo console is completely dark whilst driving,, isnt this supposed to display something whilst driving ?? I can play about with the mpg, clock and so forth in the rev display but unsure whether the big display should show something as well ??

The factory stereo isnt a bad unit but how easy is it to upgrade, and do the speakers hold a better unit or do you have to do the whole lot ?

Once again,,,, been a hyundai, peugout, mercedes and ford owner,, think ive seen the light !!!

Hi, nice choice of car you have there.

I think you did pick that up at a good price mate, I payed that for mine on a 05 plate back in September.

The black bit between the speedo and rev counter is where most of your warning lights come on when you switch on the ignition, the only time this will come on is when you have a problem ie screen wash, low fuel, oil problems etc and you will know as the car will bing at you.

Hope this helps mate.

Cheers mate,, thought so

Welcome mate!

As davy said, the black bit is for all your warning lights so im guessing you want that to stay dark! :D

As for the rattles, it is a common problem with fabias. Take it back to the dealer and moan at them, they should sort it out for you.

Welcome again to the forum!

Welcome mate, hope you enjoy your stay with Briskoda:thumbup:

Any advice on the stereo thing chaps ?

I would say the speakers are up to the job of taking another headunit, I've not removed my stereo but I would guess it would be easy to remove and plug in.

Think the vRS has 8 speakers as standard.

The stereo has been well covered, Do a search, But make a cuppa first there's a lot of reading there. ;)

And get used to the stupid grin had mine over a year now:D

What colour did you get? Doh! it'll be silver then:rolleyes:

Any factory toy's?

I do a lot of miles, around 105 a day, every day and Ive gone through 5 cars in the last 6 years,,,, this is the one I hope will take the mileage the easiest as well as giving me a laff in the process and maybe saving some cash on the way !!

Well I'm doing nearly 200 miles a week in mine with commuting to work and going to SWMBO's house in fife so I need the diesel for economy and the vRS is so fun to drive as well.

The tdi engine is a good engine and will last well if serviced on schedule. I've done 6000 miles in six or seven months already.

I'm planning to keep this car for at least 3 years before changing, my last two cars I had for a year and a half each.

Also good to see another scottish member, keep a eye out on meets in the region.

You've definatly picked the right car for a laugh!! I really need to grow up but i still love giving the daft "boy racers" about here a shock lol

As for the stereo, you'll need to buy a facia, just to cover up the small gap the original head unit leaves.

Get a remap or a Dragon Performance plug n play and the smile will only get bigger!! lol

Have fun in yer furby lol
