The factory stereo isnt a bad unit but how easy is it to upgrade, and do the speakers hold a better unit or do you have to do the whole lot ?

I have a 10 year old pioneer head unit in my vRS, with the standard speakers. It's made a worthwhile improvement. The hardest bit is getting the factory unit out: I got the dealers to do it at a service.

Rattle from glovebox.

Many here have complained of this, when in fact the rattle source is the orange plastic bonnet stay holder. Lift the bonnet and you'll see it located on the RHS. Use some foam tape to stop any play between the holder and the bonnet/stay.

Another tip is to put some silicone grease on the faces of the two rubber buffers at the hinged end of the bonnet.

Try the search function "glovebox rattle" for more info and pics.

Hope this solves your rattle.

welcome to the site

I had an annoying rattle from the glovebox area when I first got mine a year ago.

apparently they tightened up the strut that the dash is fixed on to, and the rattle stopped. I think it's coming back though, and it deffo sounds louder when the car's cold.

Welcome to Briaskoda :) you will enjoy it in here, very nice people and very helpful.

I have had my car for 6months+ now and it's the best car I have drove :rofl: and as they all say  I also feel like teen driving again.

No offense, but use the search function :) you'll get flamed for not searching, I think there was a post about tyres etc not that long ago, you maybe get a cheep place of that.

You could always try the on-line traders to get a target price - that is mytyres.co.uk based in Glasgow (I've used them), netatyre.co.uk based in Dunfermline or blackcircles.com based in Peebles, if it suits you just buy the tyres from them "fitted" - or if not use their price to force KwikFit to beat it. Alternatively, try your local independant tyre trader - find thenm in the local press or yellow pages. Final place could be costco if you want/like Michelin and can use a costco card holder.

You could try Profile Tyres down my way. Dunno if they have a website tho.
