Rear wiper arm

Featured Replies

Evening all,

The positioning of my rear wiper arm seems to be a bit out. The spring on the inside of the arm scores into the rear window when turned on and the furthest out end sits away from the window not covering the blade.

Has anyone else had this problem? I thought the garage might have put the wrong blade in, the part number is 6YO 955 425. Is this correct? If this is the right part can it be fixed by removing and reattaching the wiper arm?

Thanks in advance

FroM your pics it looks like you may need a new refill, they are available from main stealers for about £4-5. The plastic arm looks ok.

What do you mean by refill? the bit that goes over the jet nozzle?

Primarily hoping to stop the scoring on the glass, anything else is a bonus

the refill is the rubber bit that clips into the wiper arm

I Think he means the blade.

Have you checked it's on the right way round?

Haha, I hope its an oversight on my behalf like that. The arrow showing top I have pointing away from the connection, It didnt occur to me to check the other way round while I was stood in several inches, and growing, of snow. Its top of my list for things to do in the morning. thanks for pointing out the obvious, its what i normally miss!

My location box is slightly inaccurate at the moment, currently staying at the parents a whole hour north from Inverness. I wish i was in the positivley tropical climate of Edinburgh at the moment!
