Yes as the title suggests, traded in this week.

Old car ...

Owned since January 2004

Mileage .. was 26,617, now 136,151

Still on the original engine, clutch, gearbox.

Brake pads changed at purchase & not since

So does 109,534 miles on front pads

signify a relaxed driving style!

Since Wednesday I've done every trip with lights & wipers on.

I've re-fuelled it this evening after 526 miles of ....

ahem ... brisk-ish driving!

Computer indicated 51.1mpg, but brim to brim method suggested 47.96mpg.

Thats 10mpg down on the (non PD) mk1 even with it's mud & snow winter tyres on! Although I have overtaken alot more things since Wednesday!

Anyone would think you were chuffed or summat

No, it was only a VRS,

now if it had been a 2.0 petrol Fabia,

that would have been a different story....

Yeah, I thought there was a bad blind spot with the left mirror,

then I just realised how far behind they'd reversed!!!

Your old motor was nice too, thats gonna make a good buy for someone judging by the way its been drove.

I like the sports, I think the rear bumper on the sport and vRs is a tad nicer than the standard one, rounds the rear end of nice.

Yeah, I'm really pleased with it so far.

It looks quite menacing at night under artficial lights

(eg petrol station) definitely makes you turn back to look again.

I thought I'd better take some photos of the green one looking clean,

as you can tell from the mileage I covered,

it usually was (externally) the dirtiest car at most meets.

A couple of people on here had driven the old one

& couldn't believe how well it drove for it's age & mileage.

I think without the MOT mileage database,

it would definitely have been a candidate

for a crook to clock back to 70k!

Excellent stuff! I'm sure you'll be glad of the extra 50+ ponies when it comes to the next C&F meet. :D

Nice new car mate!

Hope you got a nice p/x price on the old one :)

Before we picked up our new (in 06) Octy II, the garage kindly lent us an Isalnd Green Octy I. It had done about 160,000 miles, and it drove very well. I was most impressed!

Well after 5 wet days of ownership & 600+ miles

I thought I might give the new car a wash ...

Now those who know me, know how badly I normally wash cars,

but I went out & bought a "Reduced Xmas line" in Tescos

"A car valet set" containing a microfibre washer, a microfibre dryer & an alloy wheel brush ... all for £2.50

I was dodging between fast moving clouds,

washing a bit, drying a bit,

before the sun came out again!!

Anyhow ... here's some pix

My neighbour was laughing at me

turning the car round to work in the shade!

He's seen how I used to wash cars (infrequently)

before I started reading Mr Baker21's posts!!
