Aerial Robbed!

Featured Replies

Got in car yesterday, and the radio was a bit fuzzy. Got out car to check aerial, only to find that some thieving, robbing **** of an excuse for a human being has nicked it .

As it was April fools day, thought a mate might have taken it as a joke, but it would appear not:thumbdwn:

Anyway, had a look on ebay and searched on here. S2000 aerial seems popular but don't want to have to change fin. Seems to be a lot of 'beesting' ones, can anyone shed any light on what these are? and are they any good?

I bought a cheap alloy one off ebay when I first got my car - looked ok but reception was pants...

...avoid cheap alloy ones!

Avoid the cheap alloy aerial as already mentioned, the actual whip is much shorter than oem. The oem aerial is wound up around the actual aerial mast so is much longer.

The S2000 one seems popular, but could equally be a theft target. Your local dealer can order you another oem one.

This is happening happening far to often now.

A lad of another forum that I go on had his stolen off his MK2 Golf.

Shame we couldnt put an electric charge through them at night.

I had that on my old corsa. My bro in law got me another as he works at our local vaux garage and the theving tw@'s took that too. Itried to be clever and got an allen bolt from work, did it up really tight with an allen key, the f**kers couldn't get it out so they ripped the whole mount off. :orb_angry

Since then though had nothing, they must like skodas.

Agreed, I've got one fitted, although getting the original off was a bit of a bugger, the neighbours must of thought I was going mad, stood in the pouring rain having a fight with my car aerial!!

Get yourself an Honda S2000 one they fit straight in work great and look great :)

Skoda Fabia vRS - Project Greedy: Fabia vRS - s2000 aerial upgrade

Chris

Ive got an S2000 one on mine.

Reception is fine and it looks quite smart.

It just screws straight on.

When you say fit straight in, do you mean it just screws onto the existing aerial base, or do i need a new base as well?

if they keep nicking it then get some nice anti climb paint that they use for walls and paint the aerial in it, they have nice hands when they do pinch it and you will have the satisfaction that some scroat now has black hands that will be hard to get the stuff off of
