Leaking fuel pipe?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 2007 1.4 tdi combi with 26,000 km on it. On the way home from work this morning I thought I smelt the odd whiff of diesel but put it down to fumes from the wagonin front. When I got home and popped the bonnet, I noticed that the small pipe that leads from the brake vacuum pump was a bit moist to touch but can't make my mind up if it is leaking here or if it might just be oil residue that has got on to the pipe through normal use? The pipe appears to be secure at the fittings and if it is leaking it must be miniscule amounts as I'm still getting between 55 - 59 mpg. (130 mile commute)

I am going to drop in at the dealers in the morning, but just wondered if anyone else had had this?

Thanks.

Mine leaked slightly around the T-piece on top of the fuel filter . not sure of the layout of the engine bay on the 1.4 though.

Turned out that there was a tiny hole in the pipe, now changed, business as usual. Will keep an eye on this now and T piece as advised by Grant - Thanks.
