Calling 200bhp + fabias around the south wales area..

Featured Replies

I think im about to invest some big bucks into my fabia, its standard atm with just an angel tuning remap pd160 etc.

Its the decision of;

Upgrade most parts bar a bigger turbo and achieve around 200bhp i guess

Or

Go the whole hog, go with a hybrid turbo etc and go for around 220-230bhp.

(all work is inconjunction with koni FSD shocks, eibach springs, FMIC, clutch, brakes, exhaust blah blah)

So i put it to you Briskoda members, with a budget of £4-5k possibly available, what route would you take (what would you get done and by whom).

- Would anyone around the South Wales area, im based in Chepstow, be able to take me for a spin in a 190-200bhp tuned fabia, and maybe a 220-230bhp tuned fabia? Just so i can see if there really is a big differnce in real life driving grunt.

Thinking of getting the work done either by Jabba Sport, dont really need feedback on their work, i think we all know its up to standard.

Or Welsh Coast Customs - If anyone has any feedback about those guys, much welcome.

Or a local garage to me whos labour costs are low and they have all the kit.

Many Thanks,

James.

your standard turbo will never be enough to get 200bhp:thumbdwn:

if it was me i'd go for the cheap option when it comes to getting all the parts fitted, and then go somewhere reputable for it to be mapped.

this is a good spec,and makes a very good car,i know i drive it:rofl:

CHASSIS

Forge upper front strut brace

Vibra terchnics dog bone mount

Jabba rear anti roll bar

Seat ibiza cupra front wishbone bushes

Kw v1 coilovers

rear chassis brace

BRAKES

312mm Audi s3 brake conversion

ferrodo ds 2500 pads

TRANSMISSION

Peloquin atb differential

Spec stage 3+ clutch(capable of handling 600 ft lbs of torque)

Spec lightwieght ally single mass flywheel, wieghing 4 kgs(the original duel mass flywheel is over 20kgs)

ENGINE

Pd 160 Ibiza cupra intake

Pipercross pannel filter

Egr blanked off

Rev limiter raised to 5200rpm

Custom tweaked generic re map for now(estimated 185bhp/340ft lbs)

BODYWORK

Front end completly colour coded

Side rubbing strips removed

Tailgate de badged and smoothed

Milotec front grill

Hydraulic bonnet lifter kit

WHEELS AND TYRES

Oilburninnut - How much are we talking for that to be done?

Im after a car that makes me smile when i put my foot down, im not after somthing that will do the Ring in 10mins, I dont drive very fast down the country roads because you never know whats around the corner, and believe me ive seen everything from a 52 seater bus doing a 3point turn just after a blind bend..

I've probably got 170bhp maybe from the Angel Tuning remap, but its not enough anymore.

So would 185bhp/340ft lbs be alot of difference? Love it or hate it, im a love of stright line speed and acceleration, corners are scary where i live.

that is only an estimate,it is running slightly harder than a normal map would run the turbo the boost request has been upped to 1.8bar,this is not to be recommended as the turbo will go sooner or later,i'm just waiting as when it does,a new hybrid can replace it,as for the cost, don't make me add it all up it makes me cry:rofl:Untill i go for a drive:thumbup:The other thing about this spec is it is very noisey at idle, the dogbone mount vibrates everything so bad your fillings come out,the flywheel makes a right racket up to 3000rpm:eek:the clutch is very direct and not really any good for town driving,if the car is doing a lot of miles i would make some compromises, helix clutch and smf,the softer dogbone mount bush, but if you want the ultimate you have to sacrifice comfort.........a LOT of comfort:D

haha thanks thats good to know, i use it for my 'company car' as such, and so i do alot of miles, hense why im not chopping it for a scubby, and hey, i love my little skoda diesel.

mmm i like the ride softer than bone hard, especially on long motorway trips, my mum has a newish mini cooper, and the ride is a bit annoying after a while on a long trip.

So maybe just springs and a Rear ARB would be enough to achieve what im after handling wise?

Or Welsh Coast Customs - If anyone has any feedback about those guys, much welcome.

Do explain

Cowboys... I wouldn't spend 4-5 pence there, never mind £4-5k!

I was worried about getting that sort of feedback :-/

Im slightly shifting towards taking up the offer off a friends from work, he said he'd do the work with my help in Lou for a few Pints an hour of Bass :p

Welsh Coast C*ckups is run by pikeys... you see them at the local shows.

Thought about Allard in Gloucester?

Schrick VR6 is the local man you need to speak to I belive he has a bit of a mental fabia

I'd go hybrid & get FMIC if you wanna get anywhere near those figures for real ;)

Good to see you are spending the money on handling too ;)

Another one worth considering with that kinda cash is an ATB - you can use much, much more of the available power more of the time, and it transforms the car ;)

Im looking at this i want into the 200's, what is the turbo to get where do i get it and how much?

Ive heard of T2's etc would someone care to explain, would ideally want around 220bhp

Sorry Babs but that is absolute cr4p, Gareth has done alot of the work on my car and his wormanship is spot on, and his pricing is very reasonable.....it just so happens that lots of chavmobile owners come to him for their big bore 4s or quad exit zorsts, what should he do? turn them away or do the job and get paid.....

Anyway back on topic Jimb0 you're welcome to come out for a spin in mine, it's a bit quicker than before. :D

Last time i came to play was to buy your old Strut Brace, your can then had a decat, chip and suspension i believe, whats news?

and would you reconend i go to WCC? They've given me a good quote, but i wanna make sure ther not skimping on parts .

Cheers for the offer, will have to take you up on that,

:-)

It's running on the fruity side of 230bhp. :D

To get to the magic 200bhp you will need turbo dynamics stage 1 turbo or an allard vt2. you will also need a fmic as has been said above.

I was speaking with the guy who designed the forge one and he said that altough the forge one isnt perfect its the best available for the space available on the fabia.

My golf runs over 220bhp and i have the turbo dynamics stage 2 turbo which is a right bit of kit.

the allards one and pro alloy one are much better at cooling tho, thus future proofing it:thumbup:

the draw back with the allard one is the intake runs through the crash bar blocking the enterence to the cold air feed.

the draw back with the pro alloy one is cost ;)

Again... only going on my personal experiences with them :)

I didn't realise yours was producing that much!?

As I said .....................mental Fabia:thumbup::thumbup:

Allard Motor Company

As i see on there, there isn't alot of difference in price between a VT2 and a VT4 which takes the power to other levels,

Why not got for a VT5 and have done with it? Not alot more money, or does it require alot more beefy clutch?

a re map requires a beefy clutch depending on how agressive,a hybrid definatly requires one,it also requires a big intercooler, brakes and suspension, and the greatest mod you can bestow upona fabia, regardless of power is a peloquin atb diff, this will enable you to put everything on the floor, trust me since this mod mine is a proper weopon:thumbup:
