Calling 200bhp + fabias around the south wales area..

Featured Replies

a re map requires a beefy clutch depending on how agressive,a hybrid definatly requires one,it also requires a big intercooler, brakes and suspension, and the greatest mod you can bestow upona fabia, regardless of power is a peloquin atb diff, this will enable you to put everything on the floor, trust me since this mod mine is a proper weopon:thumbup:

Where did you get the peloquin atb diff from?

And who fitted it? Jabba? Awesome? JBS?

peloquin came from jabba, and seeing as they also are quaife agents, and still recomended the cheaper peloquin, thats what i bought it was over £300 quid cheaper supply and fit than anywhere else(just over £900)i can't speak highly enough of there skills, advice or labour rates:thumbup:

Mr Schrick is running my old turbo and seemingly doing better with it than I ever could. I am in Bristol for much of the time between early June and mid July. :) If you want a ride in a VERY 200+ hp car, then drop me a PM. ;)

£5k can get you pretty close to my spec, close, but no cigar. ;)

VT5 turbo £1.5k (to include manifold)

big bore DP + zorst - £400ish

Clutch to cope - £600+

FMIC - £600

312mm brakes - £300

EGR removal - £50

Jabba ARB - £250

KW suspension - £700

That leaves around £1k. Depends whether you want a special diff or not. Big work and long timescale to import, but very much worth it. ;)

Oh, and don't forget the mapping. If you got a whole whack of stuff from Allard I'd be willing they'd do you an "all-in" good price. Mention you saw their name on my car door, and I might get some work done at value too. :D

Cheers Jason.. Will take you up on that.. I've been wanting to do this for a while, remember i was after your exhaust, but you had to pull out?

I really dont know what route to go down, im really stuck (however this all rests on the bank giving me the nod (provisional nod has been given though)).

EGR? Why EGR removal?

Do i go down the route of not getting the turbo conversion, everything else but a Peloquin Diff instead of the VT3/4/5. Aim for 190bhp~ and have a car that puts the power down well, or go for turbo conversion, budget dependant leave out the Peloquin, have a big 230bhp~ fabia which is a bit of a pig to put the power down with..

Having never driven a propperly fast car nor a car with 'driving aids', do they really make a big differnce?

So what say you?

Option 1) Less power but Peloquin Diff'.

Option 2) More power but rely on the romance of rubber and tarmac.

Might go to Allard in the morning, not got much planned tomorrow in work and need to get this sorted sooner rather than later, the Brakes are getting close to the mark, and the Engine mounts have just gone i believe, making a nice noise in 1st, 2nd and 3rd :-s over the last day or soo.

Will do that for you Jason, maybe see if i can get work a little cheaper if i say i will also sticker up :-)

Thanks for the reply guys, all comments are helpful.

Well i went to Allard today guys, met a chap called Lloyd, very friendly bloke.

he's sorting me out with some prices for probably a VT5 turbo, which sounds nice.

I asked him about a Peloquin Diff, and he explained to me that you need to be driving kinda like your on a track to really feel the difference in a Peloquin, he said you need to be pushing the limits around corner (slightly sliding maybe), and unless you're going to be driving like that, then maybe its not a needs must.

However on another note,

As of December Allard no longer do fitting of parts, but they have allocated garages around the UK to be Allard Fitters.

Hopefully one opening up near me in a month or two, but i guess i can get the bolt on parts done myself, that would be cheaper..

Also mentioned your furby Jason, he seemed to remember that 'lpg nitros monster' quiet well :-)

mmm they had a sexy sirocco outside too, wouldn't mind a spin in that beast.

the corers are only 1/2 of it,putting the power down in a straight line can be problematic in a 230bhp fabia, the diff will help here to,imho it is the best mod i have:D

Your not far wrong there mate ;) screaming tyres in 1st 2nd 3rd and a little squeak into 4th

He'd better, as I want him to be mapping the car again very soon! Almost ready for him now!

Didn't mention about my cam did he? I left it outside their door saturday morning.

Lloyds a knowledgable chap, and his Dad, Alan, knows everything there is to know about turbos.

Funny that I can't get wheelspin in 3rd in the dry - my car just seems to grip and pull real hard in that gear. The diff might be helping. I never want to disagree with Lloyd but my diff helps out in lots of good real world situations. I don't need to drive it like a rally car to make it do it's job.

Personally I totally disagree that you dont notice the ATB, be it Peloquin or Quaife - it makes a MASSIVE difference even to stock power, and it allows you to use the power that is available safely and efficiently.

200 bhp with ATB vs 230 without - I'd go 200 with ATB... Or better, save up and do both ;)

Also the diff helps in corners AND in the straights when you're on the limit of grip - which you will be in 1st, 2nd and in the wet 3rd on stock power, let alone mapped ;)
